As of September 29, 2007, there are about 1,904 images of headstones from the 12 Chesterfield cemeteries listed here. This includes every existing headstone known to be in the town. On some pages, the carvings on the headstones have also been transcribed, either by myself or from the work of Mrs. Max Lederer. These pages remain a work in progress.

Along with the original pictures and transcriptions, the works of Mrs. Max (Inez Stevens) Lederer - "Tombstone Inscriptions of the Cemeteries of Chesterfield, Massachusetts 1773 - 1940 (compiled by Mrs. Max Lederer - presented by Submit Clark Chapter, DAR, Easthampton, Mass., Mrs. Max Lederer, Regent - Southhampton, Mass." were used extensively to complete identification of worn headstones. Notes on the Lederer Transcriptions. Also, information from the Walter E. Corbin collection was used to complete cemetery information.

Also, thanks goes to Tom Wetherell, Wade Collier, Walter Beall, Barbara L, Kevin Macomber,Patti Perry, David Bisbee, Brian Holt Hawthorne, Sylvia Eddy, Karen Weeks and Loisann B for their contributions to these pages.
