Isaac Teague Lawler |
Isaac Teague Lawler was born about 1821 in Alabama. He was married on 21 July 1846 in Talladega County, Alabama, to Mary Caroline Fuller, daughter of Tryon Fuller. Isaac sold his land in Talladega about the start of the Civil War and moved to Louisiana. His son, James Henry Lawler, was said to have been born in Arcadia Parish, Louisiana, in 1866. The Louisiana property was sold in 1867. Isaac Lawler served in the Confederate army. Mary was granted a pension based on his service. The pension application states that Isaac Lawler died 10 December 1873. He has not been found in the 1870 census. Mary was living in Caldwell County, Texas, in 1880, near members of her family. They moved from Caldwell County to Hill County, then on to Clay County, Texas. Mary died in Clay County 28 April 1903. The eldest Lawler daughter married in Smith County, Texas, in 1869. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

James Henry Lawler and Etta Drew Long |
James Henry Lawler met Etta Drew Long at the home of his sister, Margaret Ida and her husband, Cap Foreman. Etta Drew Long was the daughter of James Black Long and Mary Foreman, Cap Foreman's sister. Mary Foreman Long died in 1882, when Etta was ten years old. Etta and Jim Lawler had fourteen children. Two of them died as small children.
