Rebecca Long Caulfield

Becky Long

Becky is presumed to have been named Rebecca. She was a daughter of Henry Long and Rachel Anderson. 'Becky' is named in Enid's Long Family Record. She was counted in the census in 1830 and 1840, but was missing in 1850. Enid's work says Becky "died young". The Long-Baker Bible had a page of Deaths on which is written "Henry Longs Family". It appears to say "Rebeca Canfelt [or Caufelt] died April ?? 1846. The entry is smeared and torn.

Jackson County, Alabama, where Henry Long's family apparently lived in the 1840's, was home to a family named Caulfield. Rebecca may have married a member of that family and died as a young wife. Marriage records for that county were lost.
