My Direct Line
My MacCormick line is from Isle of Mull, Argyll, Scotland. While branches are still living there, my direct ancestors migrated first to Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland in the 1890's and then to Kent, England near the turn of the century. From there they went to Didcot, Oxfordshire around 1920. My father immigrated to the United States in 1980 and settled in Newport, RI. There is strong military connection with three generations all serving as career men. The migration out of Scotland and around England was strongly linked to the military service.
