10. John3 Camp (Thomas2, Thomas1) (#78) was born in Spaldington (ref Bubwith parish records), 1832.

He married Martha Gamwell in Bubwith Church, 1858. (Martha Gamwell is #147.) Martha was born in Holme On Spalding Moor 1839. Martha was the daughter of Edward Gamwell and Mary. 

John was a man servant and Martha was a maid servant at the time of their marriage in 1858. 

In the 1881 census he was a shepherd working for Henry Pettenger of Easingwold (formerly of Spaldington) He is shown at the farm in Hollins Grove, Stillington road, Easingwold. Martha, Johns wife was living in Long street, Easingwold. I suspect John was at the farm for lambing.

John Camp and Martha Gamwell had the following children:

child 22 i. Mary Frances4 Campy (#169) was born, 1860. 

 She married John Marlow at Castleford Parish Church in 1877. (John Marlow is #170.)He was 20, she was 17. He was a labourer. Witnesses were John Henry Abbott, Mary Marlow and Charles Harrison.

 John was born 1857. John was the son of Richard Marlow. (See John Marlow for the continuation of this line.)

child 23 ii. Tom Camp (#153) was born in Easingwold, 1868.

child + 24 iii. Shallum Campy was born 1870.

child 25 iv. John E Camp (#154) was born in Easingwold, 1873.

child 26 v. Catherine Camp (#155) was born in Easingwold, 1876.

child 27 vi. Martha Camp (#156) was born in Easingwold, 1878.

 

24. Shallum4 Campy (John3 Camp, Thomas2, Thomas1) (#152) was born in Easingwold, 1870. Shallum died 1941 at 71 years of age.

In the 1881 census Shallum was living with his Aunt and her second husband George Wainwright, in Glass Houghton, Castleford:

Francis Wainwright 44 Holme (she had been married to Shallums uncle Shallum!)

William Hudson, Nephew 18 Brown Moor

Mary Francis Hudson niece 20 Holme

Shillom Campy nephew 11 Easingwold

 

Shallum  married Lillian. (Lillian is #163.) Shallum is buried at the Healdfield Road Cemetary in Castleford. The grave number is S96. Others buried with him are:- Lily 1960 age 76, Annie Campy 1974 age 66, and the cremation remains of Emily Campy 1979 age 61 and James Fletcher Campy 1987 age 81. The grave was purchased by Mrs lilian Campy of 51 Park Road. James Fletcher Campy and Emily Campy's address was given as 61 Redhill Ave, Glasshoughton.

Shallum Campy and Lillian had the following children:

child 55 i. John5 Campy (#166).

child 56 ii. Frances Campy (#167).

child 57 iii. Tom Campy (#168).

child 58 iv. James Fletcher Campy (#164) was born, 1906. His body was interred 1987 in Healdfield Road Cemetery, Castleford. James's cremation remains are in the same grave as his father Shallum, mother Lilian, sister Annie, and Emily. His address at death is given as 61 Redhill Ave, Glasshoughton. James, it seems, was named after his father's cousin, Ann Camp's husband who was called James Fletcher.

child 59 v. Annie Campy (#165) was born, 1908. Her body was interred 1974 in Healdfield Road Cem, Castleford. Annie is buried in the same grave as her father Shallum, mother lilian, brother James Fletcher Campy and Emily Campy.
