| Edwards: Oct 9, 1924. Walter H Edwards, a well known farmer of Blacklick Twp died at his home on the old Edwards homestead near Belsano on Wed, Sep 24, 1929, aged 56 yrs. He had been in failing health for the past two years and the end was not unexpected. Funeral services were conducted at the M E church in Belsano on Sunday. The deceased is survived by his wife and six children: Roy Edwards of Colver; and Roley, Florence, William, Norman and Charlotte all at home. | Hawksworth: Mountaineer Herald, Mar 26, 1926 Mrs. James V Hawksworth died at her home in Nanty Glo Sunday evening of last week following childbirth. The child survives. Mayme Elizabeth Bennett Hawksworth was born at Strongstown on Mar 24, 1892, being a d/o Mr. & Mrs. A. A. Bennett of that place. Two other children besides the infant survive, the eldest being five years old. Besides her husband children the deceased is survived by her parents mentioned above and by the following brothers and sisters: A. M. Edward Hines, Jr, has been elected president of the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company succeeding Josph Gostell, veteran firemand and president for the proceeding two years. Mr. Gostello was not a candidate. The volunteers re-elected Paul Plummer, vice president, other re-elected are Robert E Sheehan II, treasurer, and P L McGough, secretary. John W Fry was re-elected for his 12th term as chief with Mr. Sheehan named assistant chief and Joseph Laino named as the new assistant chief. Auditors named are Mr. Hines, Pat Mulhern and Randall Adams. In other business it was announced that the volunteers answered 6 alarms with an average of 33 members responding. |

| Itle: Mainliner, Apr. 13, 1967. Mark J Itle of Ebensburg RD was graduated with a bachelor of science degree and commissioned a second lieutenant in the US Army Reserve during recent commencement exercises at Pennsylvanis State University. The area graduate is a s/o Mr. 7 Mrs. Francis J Itle, majored in agricultural engineering. During his four years on the Penn State Campus, he was a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and of the Army ROTC and the Penn State Rangers for four years.He was the recipient of the Chicago Tribune award as outstanding Cadet, and served as Executive officer of the Rangers in 1965 and as Commander in 1966. Miss Florence Peters, d/o Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Peters of Nicktown became the bride of Gerald Itle s/o Mr & Mrs Charles Itle of Cresson at a beautiful ceremony performed in St Nicholas Catholic Church at Nicktown at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. Rev. Marinus Ferg O.S.B. officiated and sang the nuptial high mass which followed. Bartlers Smith of Ff Cresson, an uncle of the bride sang the Ave Maria at the offertory. Attending the couple were Miss Ruth Peters, a sister of the bride and Russell Itle, a brother of the bridegroom. The bride was very beautifully attired in a white princess style gown of lace over satin with a tulle veil which was arranged with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of white rosebuds with fern and satin streamers. The brides maid was attired in a pink taffeta gown with matching picture hat and carried pink rosebud and fern. Following the mass a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents to members of the immediate families. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and the New York World's Fair the couple will reside in Cresson. The former Miss Peters is a graduate of Spangler High School and has been employed for a number of years in the Barnesboro shirt factory.
