Tiger:   Miss Dolly Tiger, daughter of Isaac Tiger, of Canoe Township, died of a complication of troubles at Arcadia at 10 o'clock, Saturday night, May 21, 1904.   The remains were buried in the Rowley graveyard on Monday morning at 11 o'clock.   The Gazette last week contained a brief notice of the death of Miss Dollie Tyger, a milliner of Arcadia, at a hotel in Barnesboro.   It has developed the young woman’s death was the result of a criminal operation, and Dr. J. C. Miller, of Jeannette, is under arrest charged with having performed the operation, some weeks ago.   As an accessory to the crime, Harry Patterson of Arcadia, was also held by the coroner's jury, which investigated the death of the young woman at Barnesboro last Thursday.   Miss Tyger, who was in the neighborhood of 26 years of age, went to the Central Hotel in Barnesboro two weeks ago and summoned a number of physicians to attend her.   Her condition, evidently the result of criminal practice, was very grave and she sank day-by-day dying at Barnesbor, May 23.   At the coroner's inquest it was developed that Miss Tyger made ante mortem statement in which she said that the operation had been performed in the office of Dr. J. C. Miller of Jeannette.   The man responsible for her condition and the one who secured the operation, paying her expenses afterwards was Harry Patterson.   The father of the girl in his testimony told what he knew of his daughter's condition and how it had been kept a secret from him.   From his remarks it is inferred that he knew nothing of the matter until he and his wife were summoned to her bedside.   The four physicians were questioned as to the condition of the girl and the result of the post mortem examination of the remains.   They were unanimous in stating that death was the direct result of the criminal operation.   Officers started to arrest Dr. Miller, the warrant being in the hands of Constable Anderson, of Greensburg.   Milled was found, but only after some difficulty, the constable being informed at the doctor's home that the latter was not at home; but despite the abuse of the household he searched the premises and found the man.   Confronted by the father of the girl on whom he is alleged to have performed the criminal operation.   Miller made a tearful and pitiful pleas.   The father did not attempt to make a reply to Dr. Miller who was noticeably under the influence of liquor.   At a hearing given Miller at which Coroner E. L. Miller, of Cambria County was present, the accused physician was held for court, $2,000 bail being required.   Patterson the author of the girl's trouble, has not yet been arrested, his present location being unknown.
