In the Name of God Amen--I, Thomas Harns of the Township of Fredericksburgh Midland District and Province of Upper Canada. Being Infirm in Body But perfectly in my senses, and calling to mind the uncertainty of life have thought proper to will my Worldly Effects in the following manner.
Viz: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Deborah Harns Lot Number Eleven whereon I now Dwell with all Household Furnature Farming Farming Utensals & one pair of Mares Two Yoke of oxen three cows three heifers one year old and Ten Sheep, and at the Decease of the Said Deborah Harns the above mentioned Farm, Farming Utensals Cattle Horses Sheep Shall belong to my beloved Son Darius Harns.
I give and bequeath to my Beloved sons and Daughter Gilbert, Josiah and Sarah Harns, & Thomas Jnr. Five Shillings Halifax Currency each. Also I give and bequeath to my beloved son Jason Harns Lot Number Seventy One lying in the Seventh Township Bay of Quinte one yoke of two year old steer one mare colt, two cows four sheep and one pair plow irons. I also give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Jerusha Harns One Cow One Heifer a year old and three Sheep. I also will that my beloved grandaughter Peggy Harns, shall have from her grandmother Deborah Harns or her Uncle Darius Harns one cow at least and if she is prosperous in the World to do otherwise for as I might have done had I been living.
I recommend my body to be buried at the Direction of my Friends and Do by this Constitute and appoint my Beloved Son Jason Harns & William Bell my Friendly Neighbor my Lawful Executors to this my last Will and Testament Given under my Hand at Fredericksburgh this Seventh Day of June 1796.

AFFIDAVIT OF EXECUTION OF THE ABOVE WILL

MIDLAND DISTRICT
Before Alexander Fisher Esquire Judge of the Surrogate Court for the Midland District, Province of UPper Canada

Personally appeard William Bell one of the Executors in the before written Will of Thomas Harns mentioned - who being duly sworn - maketh oath and saith that he believes the before written Will to be the true last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Harns deceased and that he will pay all the debts and legacies of the deceased as far as the goods shall extend and the law shall bind him and that he will exhibit a true full and perfect inventory of all and using the goods chattels rights and credits of the deceased together with a just and true account into the Registry of the Surrogate Court for the Midland District when he shall be lawfully called thereunto.
