Floyd a. Rinker, 64, of Knox RD 1, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at his residence following an extended illness. Born Oct. 21, 1934, in Salem Township, he was a son of Arlington and Grace ROBINSON Rinker. Mr.Rinker was the owner of Rinker's Electric at Knox RD 1 for the past 19 years. He previously had worked for 17 years at Blauser's Plumbing & Heating in Knox. He played in many bands as a guitar player and organist for many years, including "Gary & The Paragons" and "2 x 2." Mr. Rinker was a member of Clarion Lodge, F&A.M., and the Valley of Coudersport Scottish Rite. He was an auto racing sponsor and team member for Dick Rankin Racing. Mr. Rinker was married July 16, 1972, to Judy A. REYNOLDS, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Mike Rinker of Knox, Carl Rinker of Elizabethtown and Steve Rinker of Lamartine; a daughter, Justine MYERS of Rimersburg; two stepsons, Troy CASHDOLLAR of Franklin and Todd Cashdollar of Clarion; four granddaughters; and four grandsons. He also is survived by two brothers, Dale Rinker of Knox and Russell Rinker of Victory Heights; and a sister, Lois KELLOGG of Cranberry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rinker was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy LEWIS. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the William N. Ruper Mortuary, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Maurice Friedlund, retired minister, officiating. Interment will be in Starr Cemetery at Knox, RD 1. Memorial donations may be made to the Clarion-Forest County Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice.

Agnes Elizabeth Coogan, 94, of 420 Colbert Ave., died at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, in the home of her son, Donald, following an extended illness. Born Aug. 29, 1905, in Gilfoyle, She was a daughter of George and Mary POMGRATZ GREGORY. Mrs. Coogan had been employed at Falco's Restaurant in Siverly and at the Elks Club in Oil City. She had been a practical nurse for a short time and was a crossing guard for many years at Wabash and Colbert avenues. She also had worked for her daughter at Sloan's Florist. Mrs. Coogan was a member of Our Lady Help of Christian Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and also for many church events over the years. Mrs. Coogan was married in 1925 to James Leo Coogan of North Pinegrove. He died July 14, 1962. They were married in St. Stephen Church by the Rev. John Nolan. Surviving are five children, Francis J. Coogan and his wife, Betty Coogan, Richard G. Coogan, Margaret "Peg" SLOAN and Donald J. Coogan, all of Oil City, and Mrs. William K. (Jean) BAYER of Grayslake, Ill.; a special friend, Ella May of Oil City; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Coogan was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Leo Coogan; three grandsons, Edward J. Coogan, Donald J. "Virge" Coogan Jr. and Kevin P. Coogan; five sisters, Mary MANGUS, Sophie COLE, Bertha ZAK, Victoria Coogan and Elizabeth GREGORY; and nine brothers, Joseph, George, Charles, Henry, Vincent, Andrew, Anthony, Lewis and Paul Gregory. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church with the Rev. John P. Malthaner, pastor, as the presider. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Help of Christians Church.

Marjorie F. Hillier, 68, who spent her summers at Franklin RD 3 and her winters at 8 Lakeside Park, Dallas, Texas, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, in the emergency room of Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Oct. 27, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Boyd W. and Irene STEFFEE FOSTER. Mrs. Hillier was a graduate of Dormont High School and Pittsburgh Business College. She was a member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Hillier was a member of Wanango Country Club and The Franklin Club and was president of the Petroleum Accountants Wives' Club in Dallas, Texas. She was a homemaker and an avid reader and gourmet cook. Mrs. Hillier was married June 23, 1956, to Paul W. Hillier Jr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Jeffrey S. Hillier and his wife, Kathryne, of Dallas, Texas, Gary R. Hillier and his wife, Kim of Trophy Club, Texas, and Gregg W. Hillier of Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren, Travis W. Hillier and Cameron J. Hillier, both of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Hillier was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark McCalla, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, officiating. Brian Joseph Rathfon, 21, of Leeper, died Monday evening, Sept. 27, 1999, at Clarion University. Born Aug. 22, 1978, in Minot, N.D., he was a son of Mark and Sheila CARROLL Rathfon. He graduated in 1996 from North Clarion High School and was a student at Clarion University. Mr. Rathfon was an assistant golf pro at Pine Crest Golf Club and passed his test in May 1999 to join the PGA of America. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Crown. He enjoyed hunting and high school basketball. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Ben Rathfon at home; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Carroll of Lucinda; and his paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Rathfon of Leeper. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Calvin Rathfon. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Borland Funeral Home, Inc., in Leeper. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebraed at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Church, Crown, with the Rev. Thomas Hoderny, pastor, as the presider. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family suggest memorials be made to The First Tee Program benefiting junior golf.
