This is an undated newsclipping -- I have no idea of which newspaper printed this article, but it concerns the school district where my father, Wm. B. Conklin, attended school from about 1909 to 1915. The clipping was sent to me by a descendant of one of the attendees. (by Shirley Farone)
Note: Sitehost found the Minutes of Meetings of this school district and on June 20th, 1932 there appeared reference to such a gathering as is described in this clipping. However, the dates in the Minutes and in the article do not coincide. Perhaps we are looking at two separate gatherings.

School district No. 3 at Muscallonge held a picnic June 24 on the lawn of Roberts (sic)Alexander at Muscalonge. The oldest teachers present were Mrs. S. H. Pitcher of Adams, H. J. Bell of Watertown, Rev. Cassius J. Sargent of Watertown, and Mrs. Burt W. Alverson. The oldest scholar in attendance was Charles Porter of Adams Center. Mr. Bell told those present that he taught in 1871 at $40 a month.
