Memorabilia From My Childhood

AKA “Life on the Farm”

Sights, Sounds, Smells, Signals & Sayings - My Memories of Farm Life.

Estate Auction - in 1992

1.     Conklin Farm (also on homepage).

In the family since 1836, portions of the acreage are still owned by members of the Conklin family.  The house is on the NATIONAL REGISTRY OF HISTORIC PLACES DOCUMENT under #89001624.  I was told that Dad signed the papers in the 1980’s for its inclusion in the registry on the basis of its being the first double home built in the township. Grandmother Conklin's Diary of 1897 tells about the home's construction.
