Playing in the Woodpile (Me)

I always was a loner!

On our farm near Brownville, N. Y.

Use the Image Increaser of your computer, if you have one. If enlarged, it looks like I'm reading from a paper which lays in my lap. Also, we detect a cardboard box and a pile of newspapers nearby. It figures! We weren't the neatest of people! That's a hair-ribbon attached to my hair -- not an airplane. My Mom would wash and starch these ribbons. Never went out of the house without one of those things on my head. And yes....we girls always wore dresses -- early 40's. As I think about this scene, it only brings out the fact that I've always preferred to work/play by myself -- maybe that's why I enjoy working on my computer so much. (by Shirley - 1-6-2002)
