Ninety-two clippings sent by Richard Palmer about the railroads in Central and Northern New York. Mr. Palmer, an avid railroad enthusiast, spent many hours accumulating these articles which date from as far back as 1839.

Over 86 clippings sent to me by Richard Palmer about the waterways, canals, and lakes of New York State. These articles include information about the many shipwrecks which occurred in and along Lake Ontario.

Twenty-three articles, entitled "Stories by Bertrande," by Bertrand Snell, a former telegrapher for the New York Central Railroad. Mr. Snell worked as a columnist for the Post Standard.

Three pieces sent to me by an anonymous individual. The articles were written by journalist, Richard C. Ellsworth, and printed in the Watertown Daily Times.

Y.; another, concerning the defenses at Madison Barracks in Jefferson County (NY) during the Civil War; and two articles written in retrospect about incidents during 1814 in southern Jefferson County. A genealogy of Major John Appling, who served during the Battle of Lake Contario is included.

Brownville-born (NY) man, Frank W. Skinner, becomes well-known bridge designer and one of the leading engineering consultants in the country.
