My name is Steve and I’m List Owner for UK-NORTHEAST & UK-NORTHWEST Mailing Lists. I live in a little town called Willington, Co Durham, (Northeast) UK. I’m the Executive Director of our own company along with two other directors, and mainly work from home, although I do travel quite a lot around the UK.  

I only started my family research about 6 years ago after I found out that my family originated from the Yorkshire area and not Durham, as I was always lead to believe. I’m also in the process of writing a book on the local history of WILLINGTON, SUNNYBROW & OAKENSHAW and setting up the Willington-On-Line Web Site which can be found at:- http://www.willington-on-line.com

I set up this web site and mailing list at the end of May 2000 in the hope of helping people who have family connections & genealogical interest in the Northeast counties of England. All I ask from the members of my lists is to show patience and tolerance towards everyone else on the list and to keep their tone light and friendly when replying to messages. I especially don't like sarcasm or unpleasant remarks made towards other people, that's why I started this list because of the treatment members were shown when asking simple questions on other lists.
