(Benjamin is best guess for father of this Jesse Thompson.  From his will, probated in Hancock County, GA, we know we had a son named Jesse)  This is disputed by some researchers.

Married:  Margaret Ann Watson (born 5 Jan 1821 and died 27 Nov 1905, the d/o John & Margaret Mikell Watson)

        (1)Robert Harvey Thompson
        Born:. 25 Aug 1847 Copiah Co., MS
        Married:  #1 Mary Louise Coleman in 1871 (she died in 1874) and #2 on 6 May 1876 Mrs. Frances Patterson Myers
        Died:
        Children:  John Harvey Thompson, Robert Patterson Thompson, Gertrude Gridley Thompson, Mildred Thompson
                       and Fulton Thompson.

       (2)Laura  married Dr. James T. Holmes and died shortly thereafter.  There were no children.

       Note:  Robert & Laura were twins

       (3)Julia T.  Thompson married  Captain Thomas J. Chrisman in 1860. He died in 1863 in the Seige of Vicksburg.
           Children:  Anna Clara Chrisman born 25 Dec 1860, died in the Johnstown Flood in 1889 on her way to Brazil
           to serve as a Methodist Missionary, and Agnes Gholson Chrisman who married Rev. Charles F. Smith.

       (4)Margaret "Peggy"  Thompson m. Dr. John T. Butler Children: Charles Thompson Butler, Julia Pauline Butler, and
           Clara Chrisman Butler

Died:  15 Jan 1867, buried in Sweetwater Cemetery, Copiah County, MS
Married:  #1 Joseph Hartley  15 Apr 1825 Copiah Co., MS. said to have deserted her and their 4 children and went to
                     Utah to become a Mormon.
               #2 Chester Magee d.30 Jan 1867 buried in Sweetwater Cemetery, Copiah County, MS
Children:  Jesse Thompson Hartley, Harvey Hartley m. Minerva ? , Catherine Hartley m. 1st. David Varnadoe 8 Dec 1842
in Copiah County, MS and 2nd. Mr. Warren, and Susan N. Hartley m. William Beecham and had Harvey Beecham,
Chester Beacham m. Miss Smith, and Bettie Beecham m. Marion McCree.  Margaret Ann Thompson letter states that
Rachel had two sons who died in Civil War--Thomas and Evan.  There are tombstones in Sweetwater Cemetery for
Evan Spencer Magee and Thomas C. or G. Magee b. 22 Mar 1836 and died 18 Sep 1862.

3. Mary "Polly" Thompson

Died: 11 Dec 1871
Married:  Evan Harvey Spencer on 8 Jan 1833 (They were first cousins) in Copiah Co., MS
Children:  Sarah m. Mr. Gardner and Rebecca Spencer (twins), John T. Spencer m. Miss St. Helena ( He died
at Seige of Vicksburg), and Westly Spencer.  There may be other children not listed here.

Married:  Neil Smylie, Jr.  1826
Children:  2 sons who survived the Civil War

4. Mary Alice Thompson b. 5 Feb 1852 Hinds Co., MS. married Roy Fatheree.  Had 3 children.
5. Rebecca Eudora "Dodie" Thompson b. 15 Jan 1848 Hinds Co., MS. married Barna Weems & had 2 children
6. Jesse Thompson Jr. b. 23 Apr 1841 Hinds Co., MS married Nanny Granberry on 30 Nov 1865.  .
7. William Harvey Thompson b. 20 Jul 1843 Hinds Co., MS.  Died in Civil War August, 1863 at Jackson, LA.
    Never married.
8. Walter Rembert Thompson b 22 Mar 1850 Hinds Co., MS m. Mary Beasley Coleman & had Jesse W. Thompson
     on 28 Aug 1881.
9. Margaret Ames Thompson b. 26 Mar 1836 Hinds Co., MS. d. at age 18
10. George Washington Thompson b. 28 Oct 1857 Hinds Co., MS.  Died at age 5.
11. Thomas Jefferson. Thompson b. 10 Dec 1845 Hinds Co., MS   d. 9 Sep 1850.
