First Generation

Although Jacob SHEETS (1825<1880) and his wife Sarah WEIDENHAMMER (1828-1881), daughter of Jacob D. WEIDENHAMMER & Susannah K. DREIBELBIS, lived and died in Pennsylvania, more than half of their descendants moved to Indiana, the majority settling in Indianapolis. The following are their children:

Second Generation

Mary Emma SHEETS. (Jacob) Born on 24 Oct 1852 in Milton, Northumberland County Pennslyvania, Emma died in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois on 15 Feb 1931; she was 78. Buried on 18 Feb 1931 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.
About 1873 she married David A. BYERS. Born ca 1851. David died in Jan 1927. He was employed as a railroad engineer. They lived in Indianapolis and had the following children:

Katherine Elizabeth SHEETS. (Jacob) Born on 8 Jul 1854 in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, Katherine died in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana on 6 Mar 1902, she was 47. Buried on 8 Mar 1902 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.
In 1874 when Katherine was 19, she married George W. FAUST in Pennsylvania. Born on 8 Jun 1852 in Pennsylvania, George W. died in Denver, Colorado on 11 Apr 1906, he was 53. They had the following children:

Edward D. SHEETS. (Jacob) Born on 30 Nov 1860 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, Edward died in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana on 29 Jun 1937; he was 76. On 2 Jul 1937 he was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. He was employed as a railroad engineer. About 1890, when Edward was 29, he married Vienna O. VOGELSONG. Born in Jan 1865 in Indiana, Vinnie died on 26 Aug 1925, she was 60. They had the following children:

Anna M. SHEETS. (Jacob) Born on 11 Apr 1866 in McKee Half Falls, Snyder County Pennsylvania, Anna died in California on 19 Jun 1934; she was 68. In 1883 when Anna was 16, she married John HUGO. (Born ca 1865 in Ohio). They had one child:

William Guy SHEETS. (Jacob) Born in 1868 in Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, William died in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana in 1919; he was 51. He worked as a druggist in Indianapolis. William Guy married Anna HARTMAN. (Born ca 1870). They had two children.

Harry W. SHEETS. (Jacob) Born on 8 May 1869, Harry died in Aug 1927; he was 58. Buried on 8 Aug 1927 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County Indiana. He was employed as a machinist at a Railway Shop.

Third Generation

Evelyn Mae BYERS. (Mary Emma, Jacob) Born on 12 Nov 1874 in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, Eva Mae died on 10 Aug 1941; she was 66. She was buried on 12 Sep 1941 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. She was a member of Meridian Street Methodist Episcopal Church. On 29 Jun 1898, when Eva Mae was 23, she married Samuel Evingston EARP M.S., M.D., son of Joseph EARP & Margaret E. WALLS. Born on 19 Dec 1858 in Lebanon, St. Clair County, Illinois, Dr, Earp died in Apr 1930; he was 71. He was a professor, Secretary and Dean of Central State University, and member of Scottish Rite Masons & Knights of Pythias. They had the following children:

Henry Lincoln BYERS. (Mary Emma, Jacob) Born on 29 May 1883. Harry died on 23 May 1908, he was 24. Buried on 26 May 1908 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion Co. IN.

Elizabeth Izora FAUST. (Katherine E., Jacob) Born on 12 Feb 1875 in Baltimore, Maryland, Bess died in Los Angeles County, California on 7 Jul 1957; she was 82. On 9 Jul 1957 she was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Los Angeles County, California. She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. On 15 Sep 1902 when Bess was 27, she married John KNAUSS.

Harry R. FAUST. (Katherine E., Jacob) Born on 17 Jan 1877 in Pennsylvania, Harry died in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana on 4 Apr 1942; he was 65. He was buried on 7 Apr 1942 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Harry worked as an engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and was a member of the Webb Lodge of Masons and Brotherhood of RR Engineers. He never married.

Perle Margaret FAUST. (Katherine E., Jacob) Born on 8 Jul 1879 in Indiana, Perle died in Central State Hospital, Indiana on 12 Jan 1957; she was 77. She was buried on 15 Jan 1957 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Perle was employed as a clerk in a dental office. She never married.

Charles Edward SHEETS. (Edward D., Jacob) Born on 12 Jan 1894, Charles died on 16 Jun 1914; he was 20. On 19 Jun 1914 he was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Russell SHEETS. (Edward D., Jacob) Born on 21 Sep 1899, Russell died in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana on 4 Feb 1993, he was 93.

Hazel Marshall HUGO. (Anna M., Jacob) Born on 19 Mar 1884 in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, Hazel died in St. John's Hospital, Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California on 1 Aug 1967; she was 83. Buried on 4 Aug 1967 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Hazel married Raymond W. KOERNER, son of Herman T. and Georgia M. KOERNER. (Born ca 1879 in NY). They were divorced and had no children. In the early 1930's Hazel built an estate in Pacific Palisades, California.

Fourth Generation

Evanson Byers EARP. (Evelyn M., Mary Emma, Jacob) Born on 17 May 1899 in Indiana, Evanson died in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona on 9 May 1984, he was 84. On 16 Aug 1984 he was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. He earned an M.D., was a World War I Veteran, served as Worshipful Master for Ancient Landmarks Lodge No. 319 in Indianapolis and was an Indianapolis 500 Riding Mechanic. About 1926 he married Helen HAIGHT who was born about 1902 in Michigan. She was a physical training teacher.

Leon Sutcliffe EARP. (Evelyn M., Mary Emma, Jacob) Born on 23 Mar 1902 in Indiana, Leon died in Evanston, Cook County, Illinois on 8 May 1948; he was 46. He was a structural engineer. About 1926 Leon married Katherine FINNEY. She was born about 1901 in New York.
