Volker Haus Genealogy

This site is dedicated to
DAVID AYERS and FRANZ EMIL OSCAR VÖLKER

This site will be moving to www.60thOhio.com by the end of 2024. In the meantime, you can contact me via gmail.com using jlvolker2 before the @ sign. If the background border on any of these pages blocks the writing, please zoom to 125% or more on your monitor and the border will move off the screen.

Welcome to the Volker's Homepage! The main purpose of this site is to provide genealogical information about our family tree and to provide information about the 60th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.

Please keep in mind that the genealogy information posted here has been collected from many different sites and sources. It is the combined work of many relatives, especially some cousins met over the Internet. We would like to say thanks to all the people off the Internet who have freely shared their family trees, and to family and cousins who have added many names to this tree through years of research.

Also, there is a special section dedicated to the 60th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. A very special thanks goes to my husband for his support and encouragement of my genealogical pursuits. Without his vast knowledge of history and technical expertise, this site would never have become a reality!

We hope you enjoy our site and please feel free to e-mail us with corrections to any posted data, additional links you think would be helpful, or questions.

I think Lee Greenwood said it best in his song, "God Bless the U.S.A."

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
