FROM THE 60TH OHIO

The 60th left Annapolis, Md., on Tuesday of last week, for Baltimore; where they took the cars for Pittsburg, and thence to Chicago, arriving there safely on Friday night. From a private letter dated Saturday, we learn that the regiment was very comfortably quartered at Camp Douglas, having nicely whitewashed buildings, fitted up with clean bunks, and provided with cooking apparatus, water, &c.

What the Government intends to do with the 60th is not yet definitely known, but the general impression is, that they will be ordered to Minnesota, to keep down the Indians. The term of enlistment of a considerable portion of the regiment has nearly expired while the remaining portion has several months to serve. As the regiment must all be disbanded at one time, it is thought probable the difference in their terms will be divided, and the whole regiment mustered out about the 1st of December. The question must of course be settled by the War Department, whose decision will be final.
