LUCRETIA HIGHSMITH

Lucretia Highsmith was born in 1788 in Pitt County, North Carolina, the fourth of the fifteen children of Jacob and Sarah Highsmith. She moved with her family to Wayne County, Georgia, as a teenager in 1807. She married William McCool and had at least two children: Letitia and James Madison McCool. In the 1850 Wayne County, Georgia census she is shown to be 60 years old and living with her son, James. In the 1860 census she is shown to be 72 years old and living with her daughter, Letitia Lewis.

Jacob Highsmith was a native of Pitt County, North Carolina, born in 1765, the son of John Highsmith. Jacob and his wife Sarah had these children.

John Highsmith, father of Jacob and son of Daniel Highsmith, was born in 1739 in Norfolk County, Virginia. He died in 1807. He and his wife had twelve children: Thomas, Nancy Elizabeth, Dorcas, Moses, William, John, Jacob, Peggy, Judith, Mary, Daniel, and Isaac.

Daniel Highsmith
, father of John and son of Bartholomew Highsmith and Eleanor Powell, was born in 1710 in Norfolk County, Virginia. He died in 1772 in Halifax County, North Carolina at the age of 62. He and his wife, Ann Beck, had twelve children: Daniel, John, Mary, Sarah, Dorcas, Judah, Elizabeth, Lydia, James, Ann, Anna, and Martha. Ann Beck was the daughter of Benjamin Beck and Margaret Suggs.

, father of Ann and son of Jeremiah Beck and Ann Morrow, was born about 1690 in Norfolk County, Virginia. He and Margaret Suggs had two daughters: Ann, born in 1715, and Margaret.

, father of Benjamin, was born in 1650 in Norfolk County, Virginia. Jeremiah died about 1708 in Virginia.

Ann Morrow
, mother of Benjamin, was born about 1650, the daughter of David and Ann Morrow. She died in 1700 in Princess Anne County, Virginia.

, mother of Ann Beck, was born about 1690 in Norfolk County, Virginia, the daughter of George A. Suggs and Sarah Ives.

George A. Suggs
, the father of Margaret Suggs, was born about 1653 in Norfolk County, Virginia, the son of William Suggs. He and his wife, Sarah Ives, had six children: Margaret, Thomas, George, Acquilla, Priscilla, and Mary.

William Suggs
, father of George A. Suggs, was born about 1605 in Norfolk County, Virginia. He died in 1663 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia at the age of 58.

, mother of George A. Suggs, was the daughter of Timothy Ives, Jr. and Elizabeth Hurle.

Timothy Ives, Jr.,
father of Sarah Ives, was born in 1640 in England, the son of Timothy and Margaret Ives. He died in 1710 in Norfolk County, Virginia.
