| ALBERT JOHANNES BERG picture - 1950 |
FATHER: Frederick Berg |
Albert Berg moved with his parents to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1911. He and sister Lydia invested in a tuberculosis sanitarium in Asheville, North Carolina. When she married one of the patients and moved away to Cuba, he was left holding the bag at the sanitarium. Running the facility by himself proved too much for him, and he lost the business. It was many years before he forgave Lydie for deserting him like that. He ultimately became a teacher in Chicago Heights, Illinois - a job he kept until retirement. He never married. When he retired, he moved to Tampa to live with his sisters. He died of a heart attack.
