Henry Bradham Croft was the son of Charles William Croft and Mary Jane McLeod. He moved with his family to Pasco County, Florida when he was but three years old. He was a slender man, 5'-10" tall and left handed. He was a farmer and cattleman. Henry built the family home shown above on their farm near Dade City in 1906.
Henry Croft was considered an expert horseman, yet it was a horse that killed him. He left his home on the afternoon of 5 December 1924 to ride the fences of his pasture. Two hours later, his horse came home without him, the saddle hanging upside down beneath the horse. His son Wade went out looking for him and found him alongside a fence with a broken neck. He never regained consciousness. He and Laura are buried in the Dade City Cemetery in Dade City, Florida.
