in 1927. My father was Edgar Lewis WARREN, b. 23 May 1914 in Talpa, Coleman County,
TX d. 14 Feb 1998 in Sweetwater, Nolan County, TX, son of Riley Benton WARREN, b
1883 in Tullahoma, Coffee County, TN d. 1951 in Portales, Roosevelt County, NM, and Lillie
Adella RAY, b. 25 Dec 1887 in TN m. 23 Dec 1906 in Brownwood, Brown County, TX d.
1960 in Portales, Roosevelt County, NM. He had the following siblings: Thomas; Mary
Alice; Alton Ray; and Valta Mae.
Riley Benton WARREN was the son of John A. WARREN, b. ca. 1861 in Lincoln County, TN,
and Laura A. BATES, b. 20 Dec 1857 in TN m. 9 Feb 1882 in Franklin County,
TN d. 23 Apr 1932 buried in Talpa, Coleman County, TX. They had the following children:
Riley Benton; Narcy; Richard, Arvey; Clarence W.; Lenzy Oliver; and Charles
Atlas 'Charley' Jackson WARREN. Laura A. BATES had a sister, Dovie (?Dora C.?).
Lillie Adella RAY was the daughter of Thomas Whaley RAY, b. 27 Aug 1863 in
Awalt, Franklin County, TN d. 11 Jul 1913 in Talpa, Coleman County, TX, and Julia FANNING,
b. bef. 1860 in TN d. about 1898 in Manor, Travis County, TX. They had the following children:
Lillie Adella; Leola, b. 27 Jul 1892 d. 4 Sep 1963 in Coleman County, TX;
and Arthur Howard, b. 21 Jun 1892 d. 15 Oct 1952 in Talpa, Coleman County, TX.
