This site was developed for a few reasons; one is to help me with the research of my family lines. I also think it is important that I share that research with anyone else that may be interested. So far my research has taken me from England to Virginia, and finally ending up in the Carolinas for the most part. It has taken me through several wars, and led me to several peaceful stories and I have only scratched the surface. If you have any questions about the use of my materials please see my Disclaimer & Acceptable Use Policy.

Little if anything is known about our direct line due to no record keeping from our ancestors, and the fact that Gaston County lost most of its records prior to 1913 in a fire. Here is what we believe to be true; Benjamin J. Warren (thought to be a great grandfather) married Rachael Culbertson in Caswell County North Carolina in the late 1700s, and moved to York County South Carolina in the early 1800s. They had 11 children through the years to include William Warren the next in our direct line. From there our line is spread over many counties, states, and even countries to include Australia. I believe on April 5, 1821 William Warren married Matilda Melton in Lincoln County North Carolina a short distance from York County. They went on to have 7 children to include John Tyler Warren (the youngest). John is the first generation of our line that we have written proof of its existence. The last record of John, and his family is on the 1880 Census where he is living in the South Point Township in Gaston County North Carolina. Unfortunately the 1890 census was destroyed due to a fire in the National Archives in the 1920s so we can't search that census to find his whereabouts. John and his wife Mary died in 1897 so the 1900 census does us no good. However one clue to there location is revealed when one of his sons James Mack Warren said he grew up in Union County North Carolina a short distance from Gaston County
