In 1829, Ephraim Willson Sr., his wife and their two children, Amy and Ephraim Jr. arrived in the Waterloo Township area from Yorkshire England. After living with a Mennonite family for a few years he started farming. In 1837 Ephraim Sr. purchased 224 acres of land from Andrew Kaufman and commenced to clear it to farm. After the death of Ephraim Sr.'s first wife in the early 1830's he remarried. On October 5, 1835 he married a widow Elizabeth Gofton. From this marriage a second son was born, Isaac Willson. The descendants of Isaac continued to own and farm the land until 1950. At this time it was sold for the development of the Forest Heights subdivision of Waterloo, Ontario   more history here.
