JAMES H. SADLER

Died on the 8th inst., at the residence of Mrs. Witherspoon, Abbeville District, James H. Sadler, of Lancasterville, aged 18 years. The deceased had been in declining health for several months; gone on a visit to his relatives in Abbeville District. He has left many friends and a bereaved mother. (eulogy) (Ibid.)

OSCAR SECREST

Died in Lancasterville at the residence of J. C. Secrest, Esq., on the 10th inst., Oscar Secrest, son of James F. Secrest, deceased, aged seven years. (December 24, 1860)

JANE STEELE

Died, after a short illness, in this District, on the 10th of April, Mrs. Jane Steele, consort of Col. James Steele, and daughter of Daniel Carnes, one of the early settlers of the Waxhaws, leaving an affectionate husband, a numerous family and many relatives, born 11th Sept 1788, and was married 19th April 1808, and was in her 72d year of age. She was the mother of 12 children, 26 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; seven of her own children and many of her grandchildren preceded her to the immortal world. (long eulogy). (Ibid.)

ELIZABETH STEWART

Died about 10 o'clock on Wednesday 25th ult., Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart, consort of Capt. John Stewart, of the Waxhaws in Lancaster District. (May 9, 1949)

JOHN STEWART, ESQ.

Died at his residence on Waxhaw 2nd inst., John Stewart, Esq., in the 79th year of his age. Mr. Stewart was the posthumous son of a revolutionary sire, who perished in the defence of his country, or died of disease contracted in the tented field. He was reared til pear his 14th year by his widowed mother, and then bound to a Mr. Patton in Chester to learn a Mechanic art. About the beginning of the present century, he was united in matrimony with Miss Elizabeth Latta, and returned to his native district where he remained a citizen 'till his death worshipped with the congregation at Fishing Creek interred in the Waxhaw Cemetery. MARY STEWART

Departed this life in Union Co., N. C. on the 18th of February, 1858, Mrs. Mary Stewart, wife of John Stewart, Esq., in the 61st year of her age. She was, for something more than forty years, a consistent member of the Associate Reformed Church, at Shiloh, in the Waxhaws.... [survived by] an aged husband, two sons and five daughters.

EBENEZER DR. STURGES

Died in Lancasterville on the morning of the 11th inst. of congestive bilious fever, Mr. Ebenezer Dr. Sturges, a native of See, Berkshire County, Mass.; arrived at this place 20th May last, a member of the Presbyterian Church. (eulogy). (August 19, 1834)
