The fires having occurred in Wilkes-Barre during the year to which the fire department has been called – forty in all.

Jan. 1 – Dodson’s dye works, E.J. Phillips’s furniture store, South Main street.  Damage $9,000.
Jan. 22 – House of Mrs. Julia Dougherty, West River street.  Damage $50.
Jan. 29 – Candy store of Mrs. McDonald, McLean street.  Damage $75.
Jan. 30 – Outhouse on Stanton street.  Damage $50.
Feb. 8 – House of Evan Evans, North Meade street.  Damage $75.
Feb. 11 – Shanty at lace factory.  North Wilkes-Barre.  Damage $75.
Feb. 21 – L.V. Coal Co. store house, West Market.  Damage $100.
Feb. 28 – House of Moses Jacobs, Lincoln street.  Damage $800.
Feb. 28 – House of James Brislin, Lloyd’s lane.  Damage $700.
March 2 – House of Profesor David James, Madison street.  Damage $100.
March 4 – House of Joseph Atkin, Hillard block. Damage $75.
April 3 – House of Mrs. Monroe, 29 South Main.  Damage $5.
April 12 – Atlantic Refining Co.’s plant, South Canal street.  Damage $40,000.
April 12 – House of James Jenkins, Collins street.  Damage $25.
April 28 – House of Joseph Tyburski, Dennis alley.  Damage $10.
May 5 – Barn on Lincoln street.  Damage $10.
May 14 – House occupied by Simon Clein, 272 East Market.  Damage $5.
May 16 – House occupied by Samuel Getter, Dana Place.  Damage slight.
May 16 – Carriage shop of R.E. Wallace, South Fell street.  Damage $900.
May 29 – Barn owned by Anthony Kearney, Hazle street.  Damage $500.
June 1 – Barn owned by Mrs. John Rainow, rear Lincoln.  Damage $200.
June 1 – Barn of street commissioner Crogan, rear South Canal.  Damage $50.
June 7 – House occupied by Charles Scherer, 70 North Washington.  Damage slight.
July 16 – Wyoming Valley Hotel ice house.  Damage $5.
July 17 – House of John Golb, Hancock street alley.  Damage slight.
Aug. 3 – At L.V. shops.  Department not needed.
Aug. 7 – Scmitt’s brick yard, North Wilkes-Barre.  Damage slight.
Aug. 19 – House on South Fell street occupied by James Reynolds.  Damage slight.
Aug. 19 – House on Northampton street, occupied by Walter Gaston.  Damage $25.
Aug. 26 – Barn on Grant street alley.  Damage slight.
Aug. 30 – Shed at asphalt works, Scott street. Damage slight.
Sept. 2 – Barn of C.R. Lacey Hazle street.  Damage $75.
Sept. 5 – False alarm, box 13.
Sept. 11 – House occupied by Jacob
