1898 WB Record Almanac, Mine Accidents in 1897 There were no very serious accidents in any of the 58 mines of the Fourth or Wilkes-Barre district during the year 1897.In no accident were there more than three killed at one time. At the Parrish mine in Plymouth, October 5, by an explosion of gas three men were fatally injured, and at the Auchincloss, of the D., L. & W., two were killed.
