1913 WB Record Almanac, Capital Crimes in 1912 Capital Crime in 1912 During the year 1912 there were thirteen murders in Luzerne County, compared with fifteen in 1911, fourteen in 1908, fourteen in 1907, thirteen in 1906, twelve in 1905, eight in 1904, ten in 1903. January 1 Adolph Yanescavage was stabbed to death at Jeddo in a quarrel. Stanley Sanalagavetch was found guilty of manslaughter. January 19 the body of Gregory Kravol of Freeland was found along the Lehigh Valley tracts with bullet wounds. The supposition is that he was robbed. March 16 Fred Fauldo of Pittston was shot [to] death at Dupont, his body being found in front of a saloon. It is supposed that he was killed during a quarrel. Henry Antonello was acquitted on the ground of self-defense. March 24 an Italian known as James Long was shot to death on a Pittston street after a quarrel. April 12 Alexander Krypanski, 30 years old, died from a fracture of the skull sustained by a billiard cue during a quarrel in a Wilkes-Barre salon. April 26 Edward Miller, 20 years old, died at his home in Nanticoke from a bullet wound in the head, which was inflicted December 15. He had been rendered unconscious by an assault at that time and was probably shot then, although he did not know of the bullet in his head. April 27 the coroner’s jury found that Alexander Krackromonski, whose body was found in Riverside Park Wilkes-Barre, had been murdered. The motive was not discovered. June 8 Edward Green (colored) died in Wilkes-Barre from wounds received during a fight over a crap game. September 3 Thomas Yuskuski of Edwardsville died from a fracture of the skull caused by being struck by a pool cue in a saloon fight. Charles Stanitus was acquitted of the charge of manslaughter. September 19 Frank Savage, a foreigner aged 25 years, shot and instantly killed Margaret Kresge near White Haven after driver her relatives from the house. He then committed suicide. It is presumed that he committed the deeds because the girl would not marry him. October 11 Samuel Stair, aged 40, for many years a constable at Nuangola and chief of police of that place since it was incorporated as a borough was shot and killed in front of the Nuangola station of the Wilkes-Barre & Hazleton Railway, after a desperate struggle with Arthur Stackhouse, aged 19 of Alden, a prisoner, who had been arrested on a warrant charging him with highway robbery.
