1919 WB Record Almanac, Gold Star Deaths Abroad in 1918 _________________ The following is a list, as accurately as it could be compiled, of Luzerne County boy who gave up their lives and were missing in action as reported during the year up to the time the Almanac went to press on Dec. 19, 1918. It includes the names of those who were killed in action, those who died of wounds or accident, those who died of disease and those who were missing in action, while in service in foregn lands. Unless otherwise indicated, the casalties occurred in France. The list also includes those who died of disease or be accident in the United States, mostly in the training camps. The miltary titles of the boys are not given because so many names were reported without their proper titles. The list may contain a number of omissions, owing to the many sources of information from which the reports were drawn. The Record would like to have the list as accurate as possible, so if readers of this Almanac know of any names that have been omitted and will report them, they will be included in next year's Almanac. There may be some inaccuracies under the casualty designation "Missing". Sometimes a person missing in action subsequently turns up sound, or injured in a hospital, or is found to have been killed, but the reports do not make the correction sometimes for weeks. The Almanac editor will be pleased to make corrections in a subsquent issue if they are called to his attention. _________________________________________________________________________________ CASUALTIES ABROAD. ________________ A Andrews, Henry A., Huntington Mill in action.
