1921 WB Record Almanac, More Gold Star Deaths in 1920 MORE GOLD STARS The death in service of the following Luzerne County young men was reported during 1920. The other lists will be found in previous issues of the Almanac: William H. Reichard of Wilkes-Barre, died of injuries received at an aviation school of the navy. Joseph W. Arnstein of Nanticoke, recruiting sergeant in the Marine Corps, died of pneumonia. Benjamin F. Ludwig of Nescopeck was reported during the year as having been killed in action. George Duece of Kingston was accidentally shot and killed on a rifle range in Texas, where his regiment was stationed. Michael Zaritski of Glen Lyon, of the U. S. Navy, died of heart trouble. Silas Williams of Nanticoke, killed in an accident at Camp Meade. John Garvin of Avoca, of the regular army, died of disease. Stanley Kamowski of Newport Township, died in a government hospital in North Caroline from the effect of being gassed during the war. Edwark Hornby of Wyoming, died of pneumonia at Fort Ogelthrope, Ga., where his regiment was stationed. Jacob s. Cominskey of Wilkes-Barre, died in France in 1919.
