CAPITAL CRIMES IN 1955

The following information is posted for the sole purpose of family research within the 
Yahoo Group, The Court House Gang. It is not to be published to any other web site, 
mailing list, group, etc. without prior written permission and guidelines from the group 
owner, to ensure that proper credit is given to the group and all of our volunteers that 
helped with this project.

Ignatz Yaskulski, 58, who police said, had suspicions about his wife, Lottie, 56, shot and killed her January 
27 in the kitchen of their home, 186 West Broad Street, Nanticoke, and then killed himself.

Sebastin Falvo, 54, of 6 Martin Court, Pittston, shot and killed his married step-daughter, Carmela Jenkins, 
21, rear 110 South Ridge Street, Taylor, March 30 because she would not move to his home and care for her 
younger sisters.  Falvo was tried in Lackawanna County Court and sentenced to life imprisonment in Eastern 
Penitentiary.

Mrs. Ruth Christman, 53, Sugarloaf Valley, was indicted for thr rifle slaying of her husband, Nevin, 63, June 
9 while the victim slept in the couple's farmhouse.  She was sent to Retreat State Hospital.
