Haw Bluff Church - Est. 1859 |
|
|
In 1859 a group of members of the Bethlehem Church agreed to establish a new church to be known as the "Haw Bluff" Church. Although the original building is no longer, the congregation still
exists today.
My ancestors were among those members who established the new church. Their names are listed at the top of the Covenant Page. Listed below are these members and their relationship to me.
Louis F. Boswell - Husband of Mary Jane Barnhill, my 2nd great grandaunt
Mary Jane Boswell - Wife of Louis F. Boswell
Jonathan F. and Mary J. Horrell - My 3rd great grandparents
Charles B. Barnhill - 1st cousin, 4 times removed
Duncan R. Barnhill - 1st cousin, 4 times removed
Hulen G. Barnhill - 2nd great granduncle
Rebecca A. Horrell - Wife of my 2nd great granduncle
The Haw Bluff Church Cemetery is located next to the church and many folks in my family lines are buried there.
Jonathan Francis Horrell my 3rd great grandfather Our earliest known "Horrell" ancestor to arrive in America
