Gravesides services for PFC. James A. Barnhill, who was killed in combat in Belgium, Jan. 4, 1945, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Haw Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery.

Members of the Burgaw American Legion Post will serve as pall bearers and conduct military services.

Barnhill enlisted in the service in 1942, joining the Skytrooper division in March, 1943, and received his training at Camp McCall, Fort Bragg, and Fort Benning.

He went overseas in September, 1944.

He was killed while serving with the 17th Airborne division, which was assigned to the 101st Army in Belgium.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.M. Barnhill, of Atkinson; one brother Sterling Barnhill of Atkinson; and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Bradshaw of Atkinson and Mrs. F.C. Seigler, of Wilmington.
