Obituary 17 Oct 2016 Quinn McGowen Eddie Alton "Buck" Harrell, 67, of Elizabethtown and formerly of Currie passed from his earthly life on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Poplar Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elizabethtown. He was born May 22, 1949 in Wilmington, the son of the late Marion C. Harrell and Maude Corbett Harrell. Eddie Alton is survived by his wife, Holly Harrelson Harrell; daughter, Elizabeth E. Lunsford (Harold); grandson, Mitchell Lunsford; step-mother, Jane Harrell and her children Donna Butler and Sharon Helton; special aunt, Marie Gafford and her children, Kaye Gafford, Linda Bradshaw and Michael Gafford; two nieces; four nephews; and life long friends, Jackie and Cathy Daniel. Eddie Alton served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Prosper Baptist Church. Eddie Alton grew up with a love for farming and raising animals which was instilled in him by his dad and Archie Richardson, who he farmed with for many years. Favorite canine friends of Eddie Alton were Chihuahuas which he raised for many years. He was an avid hunter and just loved being outdoors in God's beautiful world. Eddie Alton loved his family. The family will receive friends 2 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Corbett Cemetery, off of NC Hwy 11 near intersection of NC Hwy 210 and 11, Kelly, NC.
