At Helston, on the 1st instant, Mr. Samuel Harper, innkeeper, of St. Hilary, to Miss Mary Penberthy, of the former place.

 

At Tregony, on Saturday last, Mr. Alexander Brown, of Probus, to Jane, third daughter of Mr. N. Courtney, china clay factor. 

 

At Probus, on Tuesday last, Mr. Robert Daw of North Hill, to Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. Y. Nicholls, boot and shoemaker, of the former place.

 

At Hayle, on Thursday last, Mr. John Bowden, to Miss Mary Ann Pryor.

 

At St. Stephens, by Launceston, on Wednesday last, Mr. J. Williams, to Miss Marshall, of that place.

 

On the 4th instant, at Smithbra, in the county of Managhan, Ireland, by the Rev. Wm. White, Presbyterian Minister, the Rev. Wm. Morris, of Helston, missionary in the Methodist New Connexion, to Mary, fourth daughter of Mr. Walter Hetherington, and sister of Mrs. Robinson, Frances-street, Truro.

 

On the 27th ult., at Axminster, George Louis, Esq. of Colyton House, to Mary, widow of the late Rev. E. C. Forward, rector of Limington and Coomb Pyne.  

 

At Wear Gifford, by the Rev. R. Palmer, Mr. George Brinsmead, to Miss Mary Howe, of Bideford.

 

At St. Andrew’s Church, Plymouth, on the 25th ult., Mr. Land, of Stonehouse, to Miss Nancy Pledge, of Stoke.

 

At Stoke Church, on the 22nd ult., Mr. Henry Marsh, coal-merchant, of Plymouth, to Fanny, eldest daughter of Mr. D. Paramore, of St. Aubyn-street, Devonport, merchant.

On the 11th instant, at Kenwyn, by the Rev. O. J. Tascock, Mr. C. W. Fox, surgeon-dentist, of Truro, to Sophia Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. Treloar, merchant, of the same place.

 

At St. Austell, on Tuesday last, Mr. Henry Furze, master of the “Susannah” of Mevagissey, to Hannah, eldest daughter of Mr. Wm. Lewarne, carpenter,of the former place.

 

At Kenwyn, on Sunday last, Mr. Thomas Mitchell, mercer and tailor, of St. Day, to Mrs. Ann Hitchens, of St. Agnes.

 

On Monday last, at the Register Office for rthe St. Germans District, Torpoint, the Rev. John May, Baptist minister, of Saltash, to Charity, second daughter of Mr. William Oliver, of the latter place.

 

On Tuesday, the 9th instant, at Stoke Church, by the Rev. Alexander J. L. Cavie, of Waddingham, Lincolnshire, the Rev. Harry Martin, rector of Silton, in the county of Dorset, to Ann, eldest daughter of the late John Sheen Downes, Esq., of Prospect, near Plymouth; and at the same time, by the Rev. A. J. L. Cavie, William Woolby Cavie, Esq., of Harwood House, Devon, to Kate, youngest daughter of the late John Sheen Downes, Esq.

 

Oct 4, at Charles Church, Plymouth, Mr. Henry Edward Carrington, of Weymouth-street, Bath, to Emily, second daughter of Mr. Henry J. Johns, of Park-street, Plymouth. 

 

October 19, 1838

 

On the 4th instant, at St. Mary Church, Devon, the Rev. Joseph Edwards, of Stoke Gabriel, youngest son of the late Joseph Edwards, Esq., of Truro, to Amelia Hamilton, second daughter of Mrs. Whitehead, of Babbicombe.

 

On the 9th instant, at the Unitarian Meeting-house, Honiton, by the Rev. J. Taplin, Mr. Henry Spiller, to Charlotte, daughter of the late Mr. Harris, being the first marriage which has been solemnized in that place of worship.

 

At Probus, on Saturday last, Mr. T. Carveth, to Miss Mary Banfield of Tregony.

 

At Manaccan, on Tuesday last, Mr. Samuel Morgan, to Miss  Trezise, both of St. Anthony.

 

October 26, 1838

 

On the 16th instant, at Minster Church, Boscastle, by the Rev. J. Simons, Pascoe Hoskyn, Esq., of Tintagel, to Elizabeth, second daughter of the late John Panter, Esq.   The happy couple set off for Buttsend, where a large party of the gentry of the neighbourhood attended to congratulate them on the happy event.

 

On Thursday week, Capt. Pode, of Slade, near Ivybridge, to Thomasine, daughter of the late Dr. Benny, of Callington.

 

On Tuesday last, at the Superintendant Registrar’s Office, Redruth,  James Eva, of Barppa, in the parish of Camborne, blacksmith, to Thomasine Vivian, of the same place, dress-maker.    

 

 

At the Superintendent Registrar’s office, Helston, on Monday last, before Mr. J. Kirby, Registrar, Mr. Thomas Moyle, of Mullion, to Susan, eldest daughter of the late Mr. William Foxwell, of the same parish.

 

At Germoe, last week, by the Rev. John Perry, Mr. J. Wearne, of Wendron, to Mrs. Bryant, doctress of the former place, whose united age amounted to 144 years, each being 72 years of age.  The son of the bride had the honour of dancing barefoot at the celebration of his mothers marriage, on three previous occasions.  

 

On Saturday last, at Goran, Mr. John Oliver, tailor, to Margaret Real, both of Goran Haven.

 

At Bodmin, on the 11th last, by the Rev. Mr.  Gibbons of Launceston, Miss S. Bickle to Mr. M. Maunder, watchmaker, of Bodmin.
