At Carne, in the parish of Crantock, on the 24th ult., Mr. Constantine
House, aged 70 years.
On Monday last, the 30th ultimo, at Cosgarne, Gwennap, aged 62 years,
Elizabeth, wife of Philip Blamey, Esq., lamented by an extensive circle of friends and acquaintances.
At Bodmin, on Friday last, Sally, youngest daughter of Mr. John Scantlebury, maltster, aged 16 years.
At Millbrook, in the 72nd year of his age, Mr. M. Mugg, for many years a local preacher in the Methodist connection. His loss will be long
regretted.
At Fowey, last week, after a long and severe illness, Betsy Jewells, aged 30 years.
On Saturday last, at St. Ives, Betsey, wife of Mr. Joseph Lander, Joiner, aged 50 years.

At Newham Cottage, Truro, on the 6th instant, Ann, the beloved wife of
Captain John Hiatt, R.N., aged 56 years.
At Truro, on Monday last, the 6th instant, after a short illness, aged 45 years, Capt. Hunkin, late Master of the "Grasshopper" belonging to the Messrs. Gatley, of that port.
At his residence, Sextenton, near Lostwithiel, on Monday, the 29th ult., of consumption, William Lyttleton, Esq., in his 61st year. He was a man highly respected by a large body of friends, particularly the yeomanry of the neighbourhood in which he lived. His free, condescending, and affable disposition caused his company to be sought after by all to whom he was known, who were always delighted with his pleasing conversation and interesting anecdotes. His knowledge of local customs caused him to be consulted on most differences of opinion which happened to arise in the family or domestic circle, and to which he applied his excellent talent and sound judgment without the least reserve. He was a good master, a kind husband, and an affectionate father. In him the poor have lost a friend, the widow a protector, and the orphan a true and valued guardian; and although he is gone to "that bourne from which no traveler e'er returned" he will live in remembrance and affections of an extensive circle of friends as but few men were honoured within life, or regretted by in death. The writer of this had the honor of his acquaintance from youth up, and in connexion
with many others, shared his friendship and profited by hisconversation and fatherly advice. Although his loss will be severely felt, there is
consolation in the midst of grief which will tend to soothe the mind, that of having followed a good man to his grave, whose life was exemplary; and whose death was triumphant.
At St. Just in Penwith, on Thursday last, Miss Ann Angwin, aged 47 years.
At Newlyn near Penzance, on the 7th instant, Mrs. Ann Harvey, aged 87 years.
On the 5th instant, at Penzance, aged 38 years, Baldwin Francis Duppa, Esq., eldest son of Baldwin Duppa Duppa, Esq., of Hollingbourne, in the County of Kent.
At Paradise Cottage, Boscastle, William Cole, Esq., aged 82 years.
At Camelford, Mr. Wm. Wills, aged 87 years.
On Saturday last, at Helston, near Camelford, Mr. John Bastard, aged 65
years.
At East Looe, on the 1st instant, Miss Bolt, daughter of Mr. Bolt,
boat-setter, aged 18 yrs.
On the 3rd instant, at Quintral Downs, Lower St. Columb, the wife of Mr. Richard Williams, after a few hours' illness, aged 25 years.
On the 31st ult., at Brougham Hall, Westmoreland, Mrs. Brougham, widow of the late Henry Brougham, Esq., and mother of Lord Brougham, in her 88th year.
At Plymouth, William Bently, Esq., late Purser of the "Impregnable," aged 67 years.
On the 28th ultimo, after a short illness, Mr. Robert Gregory, of
High-street, Barnstaple, merchant, aged 64, for many years a respectable tradesman of that town, leaving an affectionate wife and three children to mourn their loss.
On the 24th ultimo, in Great George-street, Westminster, Sarah, wife of
Charles Lushington, Esq., MP for Ashburton.
On the 21st ultimo, at Torquay, Henry Everett, Esq., of Salisbury.
On the 21st ultimo, at Bideford, aged 64 years, Wm. P. Hasell, Esq., many years an eminent solicitor in Bath.
At his residence at Woodside, Plymouth, on the 1st instant, aged 54 years, after a most painful and protracted illness, borne with Christian spirit, Capt. Richard Dickinson, R.N., C.B., Knight of St. Louis, 2nd class of St. Anne of Russia, Redeemer of Greece, & c., leaving a disconsolate wife and four young children to deeply lament their bereavement. He was a man whose virtues, great kindness of heart, and gentleness of manner, endeared him to all, and whose memory will never cease to be cherished by a large number of friends by whom he was most sincerely esteemed, valued, and beloved.
On Sunday evening, Mrs. Gruzalier[?], wife of Mr. A. Gruzelier,
superannuated foreman of her Majesty's Dockyard, Devonport, aged 72 years.
17 JANUARY 1840, Friday
On Monday the 13th instant, in the 69th year of his age, Mr. John Reed, of the Barton of Hay, .. parish of Ladock. Through a long and useful life he was universally respected, and his truly honest and . principles will long be remembered by all those who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.
On the 15th ult., much regretted by a large . of friends, Mrs. Bowden, of the Canal Inn, Bude, .. disconsolate husband and five small children in their melancholy bereavement.
On Sunday morning last, very suddenly, at Five . aged 62 years, universally respected and esteemed, . Broad, wife of Mr. Broad, innkeeper.
At Penzance, on Friday last, Mr. John Hodge, .terer, aged 36 years, and Mrs. Ann Evans, ag.. years.
On Wednesday the 8th instant, the child of Mr. Hollow, of St. Just in
Penwith, aged 5 years.
24 JANUARY 1840, Friday
On Monday, the 20th[?] instant, at Falmouth, Henry WILLIAMS, Esq., aged 76, a gentleman of amiable manners, kind, and friendly in his general
deportment, and endeared to a very numerous circle of acquaintance, by wit and affability and good nature which became evident even on the slightest acquaintance. The regret of the entire neighbourhood was manifest on the announcement of the event, and the sorrow of a numerous family will be greatly increased by the revelation of those numerous .by which he was endeared to them. He was .. also Commandant of the Pendennis Royal Cornwall ..cal Militia, at whose meetings he continued to . the birthday of the Sovereign, and he was chairman of the Falmouth Public Subscription Rooms, the success of which was much to his superintendence.
At Truro, on Sunday last, the wife of Mr. Thomas CRAGO, aged 38 years.
On Saturday last, at Falmouth, of typhus fever, much respected, Miss
Elizabeth TREWHELA, aged 26 years.
On Monday last, at St. Columb, Mr. W. SYMONS, saddler, aged 72 years, having for nearly half a century been a consistent class leader, and an acceptable local preacher in the Methodist Society. His life was distinguished by kindness and benevolence, and his death will be deeply lamented by a numerous circle of friends and acquaintaqnce.
At St. Columb, last week, Mr. ALLPORT, hat-maker, a member of the Baptist Connexion. He calmly met his last enemy, and entered eternity with a sure and certain hope of a joyful resurrection.
At Helston, on the 21st instant, the infant son of Mr. DINGLEY, of the Star Hotel, aged 3 months.
At Tregony, on Thursday evening, the 16th instant, of rapid consumption, aged 15 years, Sarah, fourth daughter of Mr. W. JACOB, late of the Town Arms Inn, surviving her sister, who at the age of 13 died of the same disease, only eleven weeks.
At Gwithian, on Wednesday, the 15th instant, Mr. James COCK, yeoman, aged 65 years.
At St. Austell, last week, Mr. PASCOE, lat eof Bodmin, aged 82 years.
At Gerrans, on the 13th instant, the infant son of Mr. James NANCEKIEVILL.
At Trelewick, in St. Ewe, on Sunday last, after three days' illness, the wife of Mr. Wm. Henry TROUNCE.
At Launceston, on the 21st instant, Charles Edward, son of the Rev. G.
Gollop, Independent minister, aged 10 months.
At St. Erth Church-town, on Tuesday last, after a protracted illness of 12 months, Mrs. Charily Wearne HODGE, aged 42 years, greatly respected by all who knew her.
At Marazion, on the 19th instant, Mr. Benjamin DAVEY, aged 73, for many
years town crier of that place.
At Bodmin, on Monday last, John, eldest son of Mr. MILROY, aged two years.
Suddenly, at Tavistock, on Friday last, Mrs. WALKHAM, daughter of Mr.
Williams, Confectioner; and on Monday the 20th inst., Mrs BENNAMY.
At St. Ives, Mrs. WOOLCOCK, wife of Mr. Mathew Woolcock, aged 30[?] years.
At Degimbris[?], in the parish of Newlyn, on the 22nd instant, Mary, the wife of Mr. John ROBARTS, aged 67 years.
At Leeds, on the 5th instant, after a short but painful illness, borne with Christian resignation, Mr. John THOMPSON, in the 59th year of his age, having been a consistent member, and upwards of 30 years a local preacher, in the Wesleyan, and the Association Methodist Society. Mr. Thompson was father of Mr. T. Thompson, Wesleyan Association Minister, Camelford.
On the 10th inst., at Braunton, Devon, Mrs. A. TUCKER, who had attained the patriarchal age of 102, last September. She retained her mental facilities to the last, and it was only within a few months that her infirmities confined her to her house.

At his residence, Truro, on Friday last, after an affliction of long duration, Mr. Joseph FERRIS, aged 75 years, much and deservedly respected.
At Richmond Hill, Truro, on Tuesday last, Mrs. COCK, aged 75 years.
On Thursday, the 234 instant, at the Barton of Polkinhorne, in Gwinear, Vivian, infant son of Mr. William ROSEWARNE, aged 5 months.
At Penzance, on Friday last, Mr. THOMAS, printer &c., aged 67 years.
At Penryn, on Saturday last, William, the eldest son of Mr. John RUNDLE, saddler, &c, aged 8 years.
On Friday last, at Pool, in the parish of Illogan, much respected by all who knew him, Mr. Richard RULE, aged 64 years.
At Helston, last week, Mr. J. DUTCH, tinman &c., aged 57 years.
At Redruth, greatly regretted, on Monday, the 19th instant, aged 25 years, Mrs. WILSHAW, wife of the Rev. Mr. Wilshaw, of the Primitive Methodist Society.
On Saturday, the 25th instant, Mrs. CLEMENTS, relict of the late Peter Clements, Esq., of Wadebridge, in the 75th year of her age, and the 31st of her widowhood. She was a kind and friendly neighbour, a tender, solicitous, and affectionate parent, a pious, sincere, and humble Christian. In retirement and a diligent perusal of the Holy Scriptures, she found amidst the infirmities of increasing years, and the affliction of family bereavements, that peace, which is the result of a firm trust and humble confidence in the merits and mediation of a Crucified Redeemer.
On Thursday last, at St. Just in Penwith, Mr. Phillip HICKS, Wesleyan Methodist local preacher, aged 29 years.
At Ladock, Mr. William WHETTER, aged 62 years.
At Woolwich, on the 27th instant, Ansell Henry, the infant son of George FERRIS, Esq., Surgeon R.A., aged six months.
