6 August 1841, Friday


At Falmouth, on the 2nd instant, after a lingering illness, deeply regretted by a numerous family, Jane, the beloved wife of William BROAD, Esq., aged 73 years.

At Bickling, near Falmouth, Mr. L. LAWRENCE, aged 57 years. He was of the Jewish faith, and much respected, by a large circle of friends of all denominations.

At St. Erth Church-town, on the 26th ult., Mrs. Eliza GEORGE, second daughter of Capt. Henry WHITE, aged 32 years. Her end was peace.

At the residence of her brother, Mr. John GRITTEN, Helston, on the 30th ult., Miss Ann GRITTEN, at the advanced age of 85 years.

At Helston, on the 2nd instant, Mr. Henry EDMONDS, butcher, aged 71 years.

At St. Ives, on Thursday, the 29th ult., after a short illness, aged 54 years, Miss Mary KERNICK, having been from early life a consistent member of the Wesleyan Society.

At Liskeard, on Friday last, Mr. Richard PHILP, brazier, &c., aged 84 years.

At Launceston, Eleanor, wife of Mr. Wm. PEARSE, surgeon, aged 46 years.


13 August 1841, Friday


On Friday last, at Devoran, Mrs. Edward TREGASKIS, aged 56 years, much lamented.

At Polgooth, on Friday last, Mr. Thomas SPARGO, late of the Ringing Bells Inn, St. Austell, aged 35 years.

At the residence of her father, Mr. SHAW, St. Austell, aged 29 years, Elizabeth, the beloved wife of Mr. C. H. SOLOMON, of the excise, Bristol. She bore her protracted illness with Christian fortitude and her end was peace.

On Sunday last, in the higher quarter, St. Austlel, Mary TRUDGEON, aged 87 years.

At Liskeard, on Saturday last, Mr. Richard PHILP, aged 81 years.

On Monday last, at Penzance, Mrs. Richard HOCKING, aged 59 years.

On Dunstanville Terrace, Falmouth, on Tuesday last, Emma Rosamond, third daughter of the late Rev. Edmund CLARKE, the much respected pastor of the Baptist Church, Truro, aged 16 years.

On Thursday, the 12th instant, at Penzance, J. T. PAYNTER, Esq., solicitor, aged 45 years.

On Wednesday se'nnight, at Penzance, James, youngest son of Mr. POOL, of Nancothan.

At St. Ives, on Friday last, Mr. S. SYMONS, aged 78 years.

At St. Agnes, on the 10th instant, Mrs. Elizabeth TYACK, aged 30 years.

On Sunday last, at Tuckingmill, William, son of Mr. J. WEST, engineer, aged 9 years.

At Charlestown, on Saturday last, Mary Ann, daughter of Mr. William ROBERTS, aged 6 years.

At Trevensun, in Lower St. Columb, on the 15th instant, Mr. Wm. Trethewy, aged 60 years.

On Saturday last, at Liskeard, at an advanced age, Mr. Solomon Bowden, of that place.

On Sunday, the 8th instant, deeply and deservedly lamented by all who knew him, John HAYE, Esq., of Haye, near Callington, aged 56 years.


27 AUGUST 1841, Friday


In the Island of Jersey, on Tuesday, the 17th instant, Joseph Hosken JAMES, Esq., late of Truro.

On the 22nd instant, at Bitterne, while on a visit to her niece, J. M. DAVY, Mrs. ROWLAND, sister of the late Samuel STEPHENS, Esq., of Tregenna Castle, in this county.

At Polgooth, near St. Austell, on Monday last, Mrs. M. WEBB, aged 80 years.

On Saturday last, at Nanshute-hall, St. Just in Roseland, Jane, daughter of Mr. GEACH, of Bodmin, aged 8 years.

On Friday last, at Trembaze, near Liskeard, Mr. Francis CROCKER, aged 58 years.

At Penzance, on the 19th instant, Mr. Richard BREWER, aged 72 years.

At Gwavas, in Paul, on Saturday last, Elizabeth, wife of Mr. W. D. KNEEBONE, aged 27 years. She bore her affliction, which was very severe, with great patience. Her end was peace.

At Hayle, on the 24th instant, aged 37 years, Mr. Robert STEVENS, deservedly lamented by all who were acquainted with him.

On Saturday last, at the residence of Mr. H. LAITY, Tregallas, St. Erth, after a few hours' illness, Mr. Charles THOMAS, of the parish of Ludgvan.
