OCTOBER 1

At Penhale, St. Austell, on Wednesday, the 22nd ult. Mrs. SHEARMAN, aged 52
years.

At St. Austell, on Thursday, the 23rd ult., Joseph, son of Mr. PONSFORD,
aged 6 months.

At Camelford, on Sunday last, aged 50 years, Mr. Thos. HAWKEN, confidential
clerk to Mr. Pearce, solicitor, of that town, and a consistent, Wesleyan
Methodist of long standing. The deceased was highly esteemed, and is much
regretted by his family and friends.

On Tuesday last, at St. Mabyn, vicarage, suddenly, the Rev. G. Leveson
GOWER, vicar of that parish, and a County Magistrate. Mr. Gower's loss will
be greatly felt by the poor of the neighbourhood, to whom he was a constant
and liberal benefactor.

Suddenly, at Padstow, on Monday last, Mrs. THOMAS, wife of Mr. James Thomas,
rope-maker, aged 59 years.

On Thursday, the 23rd ultimo, at Pendavy, in Egloshayle, the youngest
daughter of Mr. VERCOE, aged 6 years.

On the 20th ult., at Paignton, aged 71 years, Anne, relict of the Rev. J. F.
HOWELL, Vicar of Gluvias, in this county, and sometime Canon of the
Cathedral Church of St. Peter's, Exeter.

At St. Ives, yesterday, whither he had gone for a change of air, Francis HINGSTON, Esq., comptroller of H. M. Customs at Truro, aged 45 years.

At Truro, on Wednesday, the 6th instant, aged 27 years, William Augustus, second son of Mr. TRAER, of that place.

At Truro, on Tuesday last, Mary, daughter of Mr. HALLATT, tailor,&c., aged 11 months.

At Belmont Cottage, near Penryn, on Friday last, suddenly, Mrs. SNELL, lady of Capt. Snell, R.N. aged 55 years.

On the 24th ult., at Budock, in the 68th year of his age, Mr. Alexander Woollman JENKINS, coach-painter, son of the late Mr. Alexander Jenkins, of Exeter, the author of the history of that city.

On Thurday, the 30th ult., at Prospect Cottage, Mevagissey, after a protracted and painful illness, borne with meek submission to the Divine will, Anne, the beloved wife of Mr. H. I. DOGWOOD, proprietor of the Welshman, aged 24 years. Her amiable qualities will be long remembered by the many friends to whom they had endeared her. She died "the death of the righteous."

On Friday last, at Goran Haven, aged 38 years, the wife of Lieut. Wm. SAMWELL, R. N., chief officer of the coast guard.

On Tuesday se'nnight, at Liskeard, Miss MASEY, daughter of Mr. John Masey, innkeeper, aged 22 years.

On Monday se'nnight, of asthma, under which she suffered for many years with great patience and resignation, Mary Ann, wife of Mr. Richard MAY, of the New Inn, Saltash, regretted, as she was respected, by all who knew her.

At Marazion, Mrs. Michael OLIVER, aged 29 years.

At Penzance, Mrs. CROCKER, mother of Messrs.Crocker, upholsterers, aged 90 years.

At Lariggan, near Penzance, Henry Nathaniel EYTES, Esq., aged 24 years.

At St. Just in Penwith, on Friday last, Mr. Thomas COCK, of Breage, aged 43 years.

On the 20th ult., at St. Mary's, Scilly, Mrs. Ann DOUGLAS, widow, of Capt. Joseph Douglas, and mother to Sir Joseph Douglas, who so recently distinguished himself by his gallant conduct at Canton, when in command of
the "Cambridge." and thereby gained the approbation of her Majesty, and the honor of the knighthood.

On Friday last, aged 67 years, Mr. George ROSS, many years master gunner in the garrison at St. Mary's, Scilly.

On the 16th ultimo, at Vullimoor, near Tavistock, aged 80 years, Elizabeth NICHOLAS, widow of the late Gregory Nicholas.

On the 30th ult., in St. Aubyn-street, Devonport, Mary, wife of Edward LYNE, Esq., and relict of the late Mr. Francis GOUDS, of the Royal Hotel, Devonport.

At Bristol, on the 3rd instant, after a long and painful illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude, Mary, wife of Mr. Paul QUICK, excise officer, at that place.

On the 2nd instant, on Strangways Terrace, Truro, Alexander, son of the Rev. W. D. LONGLANDS, aged 6 years.

On the 2nd instant, at Pengreep, Gwennap, the lady of Colan HARVEY, Esq., aged 74 years.

On Saturday, the 2nd instant, at Redruth, Mr. Benjamin RIPPER, aged 83 years. For upwards of 60 years the deceased was a respected and consistent member of the Wesleyan society.

On Thursday, the 7th instant, much respected, Mr. Peter PHILLIPS, of Cardew, Redruth, aged 82 years.

On Sunday last, at Redruth, aged 18 years, John, son of Mr. John DAWE, of that place, and the last survivor of ten children.

At Penzance, on Friday last, Mr. R. GILBERT, aged 82 years; on Saturday, Mr. PEARCE, aged 84 years; and Mrs. MASLING, aged 42 years; on Sunday, Mrs. JAMES, aged 44 years.

At Portscatha, in the parish of Gerrans, on the 6th instant, Ann, wife of Mr. Thomas STODDON, shoemaker, aged 63 years.

Lately, at St. Eval, Mrs, HELLYAR, aged 69 years.

At St. Erth, on Monday last, Mr. James PELLOW, aged 45 years.

On Monday, the 11th instant, Ann, the wife of Mr. Wm. THOMAS, of Trewellard, St. Just in Penwith.

On the 15th instant, in the Garrison, St. Mary's, Scilly, Mrs. Eliza BARLOW, wife of Sergeant Barlow, R. A., aged 37 years.

On the 8th inst., at Stonehouse, Emily Charlotte, youngest daughter of the Rev. William HAWKES.

On Thursday se'nnight, at Saltash, Mrs. GREGORY, wife of Mr. R. Gregory, aged 31 years.

At Stratton, on the 5th instant, Thomas Kittow, son of the late Mr. John SARGENT, of that place, aged 27 years.

At his lodgings, in London, on Tuesday se'nnight, of consumption, Edward, son of Mr. E. NETTLETON, bookseller, Plymouth, aged 23 years.

On the 1st inst., at Wilminstone, near Tavistock, Mary, wife of Mr. John PHYSICK, aged 44 years.

At Bude, on Monday last, Mr. Thomas GULLOCK, builder, aged 39 years. The deceased was much respected, and has left a wife and several young children to deplore their loss.

At Roddsbridge, near Bude, Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. William MILL, aged 15 years.

On the 4th inst., at Chestnut, Herts, William HARRISON, Esq., Queen's Counsel. By his death the following lucrative appointments have become vacant.-- Counsel to the Treasury and the War office, and Attorney-General
to the Duchy of Cornwall.

On the 7th of July, at an outpost at the Cape of Good Hope, of acute inflammation of the lungs, the effect of exposure on duty, Ensign Francis Fraser STOKES, (?) 31st regiment, the beloved son of Francis Stokes, Esq., formerly of Gibraltar.

At Truro, on Saturday last, Mrs. Susannah POLKINGHORNE, aged 81 years, sincerely and deservedly respected by all who knew her.

At his residence, Stratton-place, Falmouth, on Monday last, Lieut. JAMES, R. N., for many years commander in the packetservice, highly respected by all who knew him.

At Penryn, on Friday last, Mr. Robert BARNICOAT, printer, aged 37 years.

At Penryn, on Monday last, Mr. John TUCKER, who for many years officiated as parish clerk of the parish of Gluvias, aged 78 years.

At Portscatha, in Gerrans, on the 17th instant, Jane, wife of Mr. Thomas CROXAL, aged 25 years.

At Padstow, on Sunday last, Mr. William S. GEACH.

On the 19th instant, at Castle-ends, in the parish of Veryan, Mr. John MINERS, aged 32 years.

At Watergate, Pelynt, on the 15th inst., Mrs TAMLING, aged 35 years.

At Marazion, on the 14th instant, the infant child of Mr. N. THOMAS.

On Sunday last, at Camborne, after a long illness, Mr. Andrew VIVIAN, the youngest son of Capt. Andrew Vivian, aged 33 years; and on Monday, Emily daughter of Capt. Joseph VIVIAN, of Puggis, aged 4 years.

At Holmbush, on Saturday last, Mr. Joseph PARSONS, aged 68 years.

At St. Austell, on Wednesday last, John, infant son of Mr. John PERROW, aged 5 months.

On Tuesday last, after a long illness, at Govena Cottage, Wadebridge, Mrs. FOX, relict of the late George Fox, Esq., of Gonvena, aged about 75 years.

On Friday last, at Grey-lake, near Camelford, of typhus fever, Mrs. HAWKEN, wife of Mr. William Hawken.

At Halsetown, on the 14th instant, Mrs. D. BAMFIELD, aged 64 years.

At Penzance, Mr. William PEARCE, for 47 years the respected servant of the late William PASCOE, Esq., of Lariggan House.

At Helston, on Thursday, the 14th instant, Mr. John ELLIS, brewer, aged 60 years. On Monday last, his funeral took place, when his remains were followed to their resting place by his devotedly affectionate family, whose loss is irreparable, and a long and mournful procession of his fellow townsmen, which included churchmen and dissenters, who concurred in paying the last tribute of respect to departed worth. The principal shops in the town were closed during the funeral.

At Guernsey, on the 11th instant, Mrs. Catherine Fisher TOM, aged 41, late of Truro. The deceased was the widow of the unfortunate lunatic, who was some time since conspicuous as a candidate for Canterbury, under the name of Sir William COURTENAY. His melancholy end will be remembered by all our readers.

On Sunday, the 24th instant, at St. Austell, Fanny, infant daughter of Mr. James THOMAS, ironmonger, aged 5 months; and on Monday, the 25th instant, Mr. Jacob HIGMAN, clock and watch maker, aged 78 years.

On the 23rd instant, at St. Minver, Mrs. Charlotte TUCKETT, aged 41 years.

At Camborne, on Saturday last, Mr. Francis RALPH, grocer, &c., after a long illness, aged 33 years.

At Camborne, on Sunday last, Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. James LANYON, mine agent, aged 13 months.

On Thursday se'nnight, at Penzance, Mrs. AVISON, aged 76 years; also, Mr. DREW, aged 49 years.

At Penzance, on Tuesday last, Mr. Wm. FITCHER, aged 33 years.

At St. Ives, Mrs. PASCOE, aged 58 years.

On Friday last, after a severe illness, Mr. Thomas PEARCE, of Cray Thome, in Poundstock, aged 63 years.

On the 24th instant, at St. Ives, Mrs. WILLIAMS, relict of the late Captain Jasper Williams, of that port, aged 80 years.

At Torpoint, at an advanced age, the widow of the late Mr. DOBEY, R.N.
