At TREWITHIAN, in the parish of GERRANS, on Sunday last, Laura, second daughter of Mathew Garland CREGOE, Esq., after a lingering and painful illness, sustained throughout with Christian fortitude. Of retiring and studious habits, this young lady cherished but a limited intercourse with society, depending chiefly for her enjoyments upon those resources which a cultivated taste amply furnished her: reading music and her masterly pencil were her constant occupation. Finding delicate constitution assailed, she yielded at once to the stern dispensation, and contemplating the awful monitor in the distance, in the flower of youth, in the midst of affluence, and in the fullness of earthly joy, she surrendered to the Approaching separation from this world, with a murmur, and with a calmness and serenity, continuous even in pain, and only derivable by a reflecting mind from promises revealed, assurances brightened, and emotions genuinely religious. To her family, and the few who knew and valued her, her many virtues and qualities will long present a theme of endeared remembrance.

Near Skancateles, in the United States, on the 11th of April, aged 83 years, Mr. James JAY, Wesleyan minister, formerly of Banwell Marsh, Somersetshire, and believed to be the last surviving co-labourer with John WESLEY.

At Calcutta, on the 15th of March last, after a short illness, Mr. E. HARVEY, steward of H. M. steamer "Hindustan," and late of Falmouth, aged 29 years.

At 9. Queen's Buildings, BROMPTON, LONDON, on the 30th ult., Francis VESEY, Esq., Q. C., Barrister-at-law, reporter in Chancery. Commissioner of the Bankruptcy Court, and one of the Six Clerks at the Six Clerks' Office, aged 81 years.

At BRIXTON, near LONDON, on the 8th instant, in his 69th year, Commander Charles TILLY, R. N., formally Commander of the "Speedy" and "Camden" packets on the FALMOUTH station. When acting master of the "Marie Antoinette," schooner, Capt. TILLY commanded her boats, and was severely wounded in boarding a privateer off St. Domingo, in 1796; in the same vessel's boats, in company with those of the "Rattler," he captured, from a heavy fire, four armed row-boats, and a privateer of two guns and 56 men, in the West Indies, in 1797; he had the command of the boats of the "Proselyte," in the expedition to the Helder; when midshipman of the"Phoebe," he was again wounded when boarding in her boats to armed vessels on the coast of Genoa in 1803; was Lieutenant of the "Tiger," in the expedition to Egypt in 1807; of "L'Aigle," at the attack on the French fleet in Basque Roads in 1809; and in the "Ripon," at the capture of the French frigate "Weser," Capt. TILLY received a pension from the Patriotic Fund.

At his seat on the shores of Ullswater Lake, on the 6th instant, John MARSHALL, Esq., the eminent manufacturer of LEEDS, aged 79 years. Mr MARSHALL began life with very small means, but by his ingenuity and industry, exercised continuously for upwards of a half a century, he succeeded in amassing landed and personal property amounting, it is believed, to at least a million and a half sterling. Mr. MARSHALL'S politics were liberal, and he sat for the county of YORK from 1826 till 1830. two of his sons married daughters of Lord MONTEGLE, and subsequently the noble Lord himself married Mr. MARSHALL'S daughter.

On his passage from Jamaica to New York, on the 12th of May last, Mr. William ALLEN, formally of TRURO, aged 36 years.

At the Vicarage House, Stratton, on Sunday last, the Rev. Jacob HAWKER, elder of that parish, much and deservedly respected and revered by his family and friends.
