At the Lizard, on Friday last, Mrs. Jane HOCKING, relict of the late Mr. John HOSKING, yeoman, aged 71 years; uniting great kindness of disposition with a feeling heart, to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, she is deeply regretted, and, as a parent, is sincerely lamented by a numerous surviving family, to whom her memory will be ever dear.

At Truro, on Monday last, after a short illness, James Lewis KIRKNESS, Esq., surgeon, aged 35 years. In noticing the death of this much-lamented gentleman, we cannot refrain from joining in the expression of the deep and universal sorrow which pervades the whole town. Mr. KIRKNESS's loss will indeed be severely felt. Eminent and skilful in his profession, kind and judicious as a friend, with a manner peculiarly engaging, and combining in a remarkable degree all the qualities which could not fail to win general confidence and private regard, he enjoyed the most extensive practice and friendship in this town and neighbourhood. The recollection of his talents and many excellences will be long cherished. His kindness and gentleness, and at the same time decision and firmness, endeared him to all, and have produced feelings of the deepest regret, and will leave an impression which will be long and generally felt.
