At Polwin, near Helston, on Sunday last, in the 80th year of his age, J.D. BROWNE, Esq. It may with truth and propriety be said that few men have gone to the tomb more sincerely and deservedly respected by all classes of society, than the late Mr. Browne. He was at all times ready to lend his valuable assistance to the establishment and support of all societies in his neighbourhood, and in him the Cornwall Horticultural Society has lost one of its best and most active members.

At Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, where he had been detained by severe illness, which prevented his return to his residence, Tamerton Foliot, near Plymouth, Rear Admiral Sir Thomas FELLOWES, C.B., aged 75 years. Sir Thomas was one of the most distinguished officers in the navy. He served about twenty years afloat, and three years as superintendent of the Royal Naval Hospital and Royal William Victualling-yard, Stonehouse. He was knighted for his share at Navarino where in command of the "Dartmouth," 42 gun-frigate, he had charge of a squadron of five ships, and saved the French Admiral's ship from destruction.

On board the "Oregon", on his voyage to San Francisco on the 31st of January last, highly respected, Capt Matthew CURRY, late of Hayle, aged 50 years.
