At Penzance, on Tuesday last, after long and most painful sufferings, which he endured with Christian resignation, Edward LEAH, Esq., M.R.C.S., aged 53 years. He entered the navy and shared in the promotions consequent on the battle of Navarino; where he was present in the "Genoa". For fifteen years afterwards he was constantly on service in various parts of the world, chiefly in India, China, and the Pacific. He won and retained the esteem and regard of all with whom he served; and was endeared throughout life to his numerous friends by the sterling qualities of a strictly honourable frank, and manly character, and by his earnest and warm-hearted discharge of every social and religious duty.
