At the Eagle House, Launceston, on the 7th instant, respected and loved by those who had the pleasure of his acquaintance, Mr. William MITCHINSON, aged 72 years. A large portion of his active life was devoted to horticulture and horticultural improvements; he was considered one of the best gardeners of his time, to which was added a rare acquaintance with British botany and landscape gardening.

"Styx," third son of the Rev William WOOLLCOMBE, Vicar of Christow, Devon, and grand-son of the late Rear-Admiral Robert Carthew REYNOLDS, of Penair, in this county, whose gallant professional services, and melancholy loss by shipwreck in the North Seas in 1811, must still be fresh in the memory of many.
