"The Weddells of Old Westmoreland"

The Descendants of

George and Mary Weddell,

The Weddells of Old Westmoreland

Preface

This effort is part of an update of The Weddells of Old Westmoreland, edited by James A. Weddell and published in 1957. I have taken the information contained in The Weddells of Old Westmoreland and supplemented new information in a format conducive to current technology. My main efforts have been to solve the mystery of George and Mary's origins and to find any of the several lost lines of descendants. I arbitrarily picked 1957, the year The Weddells of Old Westmoreland was published, as a cutoff for including births and marriages. Subsequent privacy issues within the field of genealogy have made that a good decision. I will leave it to other descendants to tie themselves back to 1957.
