As a small child she moved with her parents to southern Minnesota, where she grew to womanhood. On February 22, 1880 she was united in marriage to Frank O. Crandall of Pine Island, this state. Seven children were born to the union, three sons and a daughter dying in infancy. The family lived two years on a farm at Pine Island and the year 1882 came to Hubbard county, settling on a farm five miles west of town in Todd township where they had lived 56 years. As one of the oldest pioneers, Mrs. Crandall had seen many hardships, but with her sunny and loving disposition and with the aid of her faithful husband, lived and struggled through all. Neigbors came to know her as one always ready to lend a hand in times of sorrow and need and to know her was to become her friend. Mr. and Mrs. Crandall celebrated their golden wedding anniversary eight years ago. Each year since, the anniversary date had been observed. Mrs. Crandall had been in poor health for sometime. She was taken ill with lobar pneumonia living only a week. She heard her Master Say "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into thy eternal reward," and her spirit obeyed, at the age of 75 years and ten months. She leaves to mourn her departure and revere her memory, her devoted husband and companion of almost three score years; one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Buss of Park Rapids, two sons Jesse Crandall who lives on the old homestead and Archie Crandall of Marble this state.
