The Witmeyer Family

This web site is dedicated to the family of John
Adam Witmeyer, Sr. of
Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. It includes a family tree of the Witmeyer
family dating back to the 1600's.
The Witmeyer family emigrated from Leiman, Germany to the American
colonies in 1764. Eberhard
Witmeyer arrived in the Port of Philadelphia
with his wife and seven children, and soon after, settled in Berks
County, Pennsylvania. He and his son Peter
both served in the
Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Peter later settled
in Lebanon County. Many of his descendants
stayed there, and many still live there today. His
descendants span eight generations of Americans, who have become farmers,
baseball players, schoolteachers, and scientists.
These pages are our link to the past, present, and future. I hope you
enjoy browsing these names and reading their stories.
This site would not have been possible without the efforts of Jeanne
DeLong, who has spent much of her time researching the Witmeyer family
and entering data into a family tree program. She has done an incredible
job of compiling interesting bios of many family members, which has helped
bring these people to life. Much thanks and appreciation!!!

Hi, and thanks for visiting the Witmeyer Family website! I am still in
the process of constructing this page. Some elements that are soon to be
added:
- Pictures! Scan and then email me your family pictures and I will add
them to the page. I am still working on a format for displaying them.
Give me some ideas!
- A more up-to-date family tree that will include all members of our
current family. If there are any security concerns, feel free to contact me.
- Images of important family documents, such as John Adam Sr.'s
memoirs.
I can post pictures anywhere on this page, or any other page. I can even create a separate page just for pictures and make it look like a photo album. I can also create a link from each person's name to their pitures. Let me know what you think would
look best!
Feel free to send me any comments, suggestions, and other information.
