Page 710. Thornton Bridge

Here is shown a descent for the family of Neville of Thornton Bridge which is rather different than those previously published. There now appear to be (at least) three versions of the descent of this family.

Plantagenet Ancestry page 710 cites both of the above sources but then lays out a rather different descent without explanation:

William Neville (b.ca.1426, will dated 1468/9); m. Joan NN (d.shortly before 20 July 1479)
Sir William Neville (knighted 1482, d.21 May 1484). M(1) Joan Boynton (2) Alice NN
Ralph Neville (d.24 July 1522); m. Anne (d.by 26 October 1521) dau and co-heir of Sir Christopher Warde (3 daughters, co-heirs)

I suspect that the RPA version may in fact be more accurate than its two predecessors (and no doubt its author will say without hesitation that he�s right), but it would be useful to have a better idea of WHY this is so � particularlywith respect to whether there were 1,2 or 3 Williams and (after the Williams) whether there were 1 or 2 Ralphs. RPA�s sources to these generations don�t appear to support its conclusions.
