[925798]        #1445 – in Comon Pleas Oct Court 1766 - Dutchess County ss Richard Woolsey complains of Joseph Brownal otherwise called Joseph Brownal of the Presentes [Precinct] of Charlote in Dutchess County in Custody (probably means “jurisdiction”) of High Sheriff – Richard asks that Joseph render unto said Richard 61 pounds and 4 shillings which Joseph unjustly detained (not paid) and Joseph made an obligatory note 15 May 1765 at Poughkeepsie and a bond to pay but Joseph has not paid and altogether refused to pay damages.

[925806]        # 4251 – May Court 1761 - John Willson VS John Woolsie for 19 pounds – to select a jury to ascertain costs and charges. 24 Oct 1760. Col. Jacob Concklin, judge. John Woolsey on 3 Oct 1759 did make a certain promissory note to pay 6 pounds. Jury ruled in Willson's favor.

– John Woolsie, cordwainer, of Fishkill, Dutchess County, gives a note to John Sullivan, yeoman, of the county aforesaid, 18 Nov 1758, John to pay 7 pounds10 shillings by 1 Dec 1759.

– John Woolsey of Fishkill bound unto Dirck Brinkerhoff, Merchant of same place – a 16 pound bond to pay 8 pounds to Dirck on 1 May next.

Oct Court 1767 - Hendrick Schenck VS John Woolsey otherwise called John Wolsey, Senr of Dutchess County and Province of New York, Cordwinder[a cordwainer is a shoemaker], in custody, etc. John owes 22 pounds 3 shillings and unjustly detains, that said John Woolsey on the 12 May 1767 at Poghkeepsie by his bill obligatory, sealed with the seal of the said John died acknowledge himself to be indebted to Hendrick in the sum of 11 pounds 1 shilling and 6 pence to be paid before 1 Jun next John Woolsey did bind himself in the penal sum of 22 pounds 3 shillings but did not pay so Hendrick brings suit, etc. Also John Woolsey signed a note.

– James Graham VS Lawrence Woolsey of the Little Nine Partners in Dutchess County in custody, etc. – said Laurence on 25 May 1761 at Poughkeepsie owes a certain bill, owes 14 pounds 5 shillings to be paid on 1 Mar next. Laurence bound himself, etc. for 28 pounds 10 shillings, but hasn't paid. For the defendant: John Doe and Richard Roe.

– Benjamin Woolsey complains of Resin Geer known as Razen Geer of the Nine Partners in custody, etc. render 120 pounds 20 Jun 1770 at Pokeepsie – Rezen has not paid – damage of 10 pounds.

Waldron at Rombout – A certain farm which Melancthon leased to John P. for 60 pounds in silver or gold, but John P. fraudently and craftily did not pay and another farm of Mel. To John P. same terms, did not pay. A jury was called: Philip Hermans, John Resin, Thomas Swartz, Gorge Nevre, Andres Heevyn, Ebenezer Adams, John Yost Steel, Abraham Teton, etc.

– Tice Wolsey VS Jonathan Landers – On Monday 29 Dec 1788 at the house of ____ Straite at Red Hook Precinct of Rhinebeck to Herman Hoffman, Esqr. High Sheriff, Cornelius Iswart, Thomas Isart, Abraham Teton, Bender, jurrey Nued, Benj. Beckman, John Thomas and Ebenezer Adams take oath and do support Tice Woolse who hath sustained damages by means of the promises of Landers of 7 pounds 18 shillings 7 pence – set our seals, etc.
