Here is a tentative listing of Woolsey Family Bible Records. It is hoped that others will send in their Bible records, to make this record as complete as possible.

1. Records from Twenty-nine Bibles Containing One Hundred Ninety Family Names. Compiled and Published by the Tacoma Genealogical Society, Tacoma, Washington. 1963. FHL # 979.7 D2t.

"These records are copied from a single sheet preserved from a family bible which belonged to Maryette Woolsey Buck, grandmother of Myrtle May Schoettler. Most of the entries are in her handwriting. It is presumed that the Bible itself was disposed of when she left Illinois and came west to live with her daughter. The single preserved sheet is now (1963) in the possession of Myrtle May Schoettler of 319 N. Tacoma Ave., Tacoma, Washington.

Births:

Moses Woolsey, Jr., son of Moses Woolsey, was born 18 Sep 1829. [Note by www: This is a rather intriguing record because it is the only time Moses Woolsey, Jr. appears in this Bible record. His father, Moses Woolsey [Sr.] was born 20 Feb 1805, in Huntington, Suffolk, Long Island, New York, and died 27 Feb 1831 at Rye, Westchester, New York. Moses, Sr. married 23 Jan 1825 to Mary Olmstead, of Connecticut. Moses, Sr. was a brother of Jesse Woolsey, both of them sons of the "Sweet Hollow Giant", John Woolsey. Both Jesse and John appear in this Bible Record.]

Edmund Buck is the son of Erastus Buck and Mary Woolsey, which Mary is the sister of the above Jesse Woolsey and Moses Woolsey, [Sr.], children of the "Sweet Hollow Giant", John Woolsey and Phoebe Rogers. The above Mariette Woolsey is the daughter of Jesse Woolsey and Freelove Shadboat, which Jesse is the above son of the "Sweet Hollow Giant", John Woolsey and Phoebe Rogers.]
