Town of Marlborough. Lattingtown Ground.
Lattingtown, oldest hamlet in the town and most important center until late in the 19th century when interests and population shifted to Marlborough and Milton. Joseph Carpenter bought a large tract here in 1753. The Baptist church was organized in 1807, church built in 1810. At present no regular services are held here. The Church grounds and cemetery are thickly overgrown with brambles and poison ivy. P. 122.
